More proof of mind over matter. Our minds are so powerful, that until we are faced with a dire situation we can never truly appreciate the power it holds. Glad you pulled through and get to enjoy the things in life that make you smile. Ride on bro!
Just so everyone knows this is a nine part series featuring mountain biking, snowboarding, and whitewater kayaking. This is Dave's first of three episodes, for more on the project check out balancetv.net
Dave you an inspiration, I had a similar experience where a motorcycle smash left me needing 9 hours of surgery to put my right ankle and foot back together and back on. I can't run any more but I can ride and that'll do Well done Dave.....
Met Dave this Spring at Red Shreds in WIlliams Lake, he was up there for the Peel Out and showing his new boats. Dude shreds and was hitting the dock jump with the rest of the kids!
Normally I would say that is true. In this case, had I remained in the vehicle I would've been crushed. Don't get me wrong, I was in the habbit of wearing my seatbelt before the accident and still am but at that moment I wasn't (don't know why as I thought I was) which is in part the reason I lived through it and/or my injuries weren't more severe.
Hey i met and rode with him at sun peaks this year he kept up despite him riding with single crown . I like the bike rack in the trailer. great vid dave sitting watching bike vids with a damaged knee helps me relate. Love the drawing at begiining, and the question why i ride ? priority 1
Very Inspiring. Great to see you can still kill it. I often wonder what it would be like if biking or skiing was taken away from me. I'm sure it happens more than I want to know. I'm forever thankful I haven't had to go through that in my life. Great Riding Dave. On one of my favorite trails none the less. Cheers!!!
very inspirational story Dave... thanks so much for sharing. I am looking forward to more.
ps: nice to see someone else rocking the full body armor at the parks too... not enough kids wearing protective clothing.. they will pay for it when they get older
Ironically, compared to Dave's situation, being a medic destroyed my back, and it finally gave out. Thinking of mountain biking helped motivate me to fight through to get back into shape. I certainly love the sport.
Doctors always say that but the human spirit to push on is just so much stronger and yes you are an inspiration! I believe that on that night some devine intervention took place.....I dont think you were ready to go home yet. You have a mission and purpose now. Think of it as getting a second chance! You are in fact touching peoples lives as I write this! Ride on brah!
Thanks for the inspiration! I too am recovering from two tib/fib fractures in the past 11 months from two separate biking accidents and this gives me incentive to keep exercising to get going again. All the best!
hahahhaah
Its funny me too!
I thought one of my videos made a mark on time, ahahhahahhah
Well this story was awesome and close to my same meaning as well.
I started posting everything I do as RideOn when I dislocated my shoulder and couldnt ride for a long time.
Even now over 3 years after my first dislocation and who knows how many afterward Im continuing to push my limits and RideOn!
ahahhahahahhahah
Its kind of funny but it goes hand in hand with Daves story as well.
Thank you buddy!
RideOn!

I had the stock Jeep before the accident but "built" it after so I could still get my "trail fix" since I couldn't ride and at the time didn't know if/when I could again. I did most of the mods myself from my wheel chair. Part of my rehab I guess. haha.
the lip wasn't changed. There was another, larger one added using the same landing but coming in from a different angle. put in sometime over this past summer. It's really well built and smooth.
Glad people are liking this!
