 I use a Durolux 2013 on my Commencal Supreme 6 and it performces perfectly and only cost the half of a Fox. Its a great fork

 Coming back to the main subject, yeah it seems bulletproof on this video, especially in the last segment... I'm pretty sure "All mountain" don't contain dirt jumps, but whatever, it's probably "Buehler's All mountain"!!

 I really think this is a prime example of marketing done right. It tackles the myth that small bikes (this one is 140mm rear, believe it or not) are watered down DH rigs or glorified XC bikes that can only handle small stuff while in reality, for most people, the bikes can handle a lot more than they themselves can. People can ride whatever they want but I always find it odd when people ride full sus rigs on super tame tracks (just look at the VODs) when this could be just as good if not better suited. I don't want to take another jab at the 29ers/650b as it's been done to death already but if the industry could stop the circlejerk over those for a second and promote quality rigs like this more, I think everyone would be a winner. Who doesn't want a 26 pounds mini dh rig that jumps/drops/tricks/corners/manuals/handles well AND pedals good?

I find it strange that when there's above average coverage on new rides using new-ish wheel sizes that people assume that rides like this Endorphin get no coverage when in reality they always do... I mean that's always how it's been. Newer/different stuff gets more coverage, especially when they rip. It's like complaining that since there's recently been more articles about 1x11 setups, specifically the XX1, that no other drivetrains get promoted... kinda silly.

But you're right on about the common perception that to do DH, you need a DH-specific rig. There's a ton of people I know that buy 40lbs. dual crowns and only ride perfectly smooth and machine groomed bike park runs because they think you need 10" of travel to hit anything that's not XC. I've been using 6" AM rigs for years now and they've handled basically everything I've tossed at em.

 We agree that there seems to be a lot of misconceptions about the capabilities of the trail/am bike range. Yet, as you're saying, mid travel 26ers have been around since forever. Of course they weren't always that good but the technology improved them by leap and bounds in the last few years. It's ok that the other wheel sizes get a lot of coverage but it looks like they overshadowed the progress of burlier little bikes. Hell, when I bought my first AM rig, despite reading all the reviews and everything else I still wasn't even sure how much the bike could handle. I'm still surprised every day I ride it and most people I ride with are often blown away by how well it rides in such hostile terrain. That's where I feel they might have failed with the marketing. Saying the bike is a good bike is one thing but showing it taking all kinds of abuse speaks much louder.

 Not really , that shock has surprised me on quite a few occasions , the specs and reviews say one thing but my rides say something else Not a be all end all of shocks but mine is still surprising me , And your description of this setup has me wanting it even more

 Can happen that you come hot into a corner/have to brake late and while the skid is not intended, with the weight change forward for cornering plus the braking the back wheel traction is already at a minimum and the slightest touch to the rear brake just add the bit to make the tire let go and you get a half skid half slide.
With the speed spot on you prolly would get a slide anyway when it is loose.
The boy just wants to show how the bike rips and ads a bit of 'expression' to his ride - take it like that: dont ride that loud all the time else the trails get deaf but with good measure its part of the deal.
I mean if you ride that slow that you would never break traction and you lock the rear wheel just for fun it's silly but if you ride on the edge and traction breaks then it is legit.

 Fair enough. I know it can happen and moreover i know its fun. I m just thinking thats a decision to make whether or not you promote it, both from the rider and the guy whos editing the video. With a certain popularity comes to my mind a certain responsibility. Its like wearing helmets. If the pros dont wear helmets but cool beanies and caps instead all the 15 year old kids do it as well. Same thing happended with back protectors and neck braces.

 A lot of AM bikes can be pushed almost as hard as DH rigs while keeping pretty good XC capabilities. It's never going to be as fast as an XC bike or as forgiving as a DH bike but unless you're a pro racer, they can handle pretty much anything.

 Perfect way to describe them , couldn't have said it better my self I hammer the shit out of my bikes and have Hartley ever had a major problem Def. comes down to the how your riding and not being stupid

 yeah, and one more cable through that frame = eyesore

 In truth the routing on that frame is pure genius, even the little supplied plastic clips that make zip ties unnecessary and give the cables just enough slack that you dont have to worry about their length too much. Its a rare case when loads of cables don't detract from the looks.
