Admittedly no, but its bringing the concept closer to the people who don't know it exists, or how god dam exciting it is to watch . . . . . hopefully after watching "Down Mall" a good percentage of spectators will look up real Downhill and spread the word.
This is a great way to bring mountain biking to people that would otherwise never notice/care. If only we didn't have such a litigious society (in the US) we could have more of these types of events in public places. Can you imagine the lawsuit that would result in "guy falls 50 feet off elevator and gets speared by cell phone accessory kiosk?"
I love it when they take a sport that embraces being outdoors and traversing large amounts of beautiful scenery and bring it indoors for commercial crowdsumerism. Awesome.
My guess on the goggles is perhaps it's just habit, or it could be safety related, or maybe full face helmets just look better when you got some goggles on......wait......who gives a shit if they wear goggles?
