...and here I thought 29ers were supposed to be better for rolling over rocks. Guess we'll have to see how the finishers stack up.

I'm with you on that one. 25th in the sport class. On that first stage I kept telling myself that I didn't do enough sprints on my road bike. And I'd like to use the excuse that I ran out of time and didn't get to preride the last 2 stages. I should have run beginner, at least then I'd be top 10 and would have gotten some free stuff.

True enough. Or tire pressures for that matter. Too many variables to say that the wheel size made him. I'm curious if Gwin chose the 29er or was told to ride it.

.010 of a second between 1st and 2nd. Yeah couldn't possibly be the riders. Gotta be the wheel size that made the difference. NOT. If that's all the 29er is worth between 2 pro riders, I'll keep my 26 thank you very much.

All mountain is a riding category, like XC or
DH. Enduro is a racing format. Marketers have just latched on to the enduro name and are using it to make their products seen new or special. The enduro bikes we're bombarded with are all mountain bikes, just with a burlier parts spec then most of us actually need on a trail ride.

Good to know. Sounds like a lot of work for those of us accustomed to coastal air ;) Definitely gonna try to make this my first enduro race.
