Out of Bounds Festival, part 8: slopestyle Pro’s at 26TRIX, DH elite at iXS European Downhill Cup

In less than a month the next European mega-bike event is taking place at Bikepark Leogang: the Out of Bounds Festival 2013 returns to thrill Slopestyle and Downhill fans. The FMB World Tour Gold Event 26TRIX with another outstanding rider line-up is once more gathering the world’s freeride elite in Saalfelden Leogang, while Europe’s top Downhill racers are coming for the first stop of the iXS European Downhill Cup. To make sure every moment is packed with fun, there will be lots of enjoyable side events for everyone to take part in. The Out of Bounds Festival already has something of a classic status within the European gravity scene. During this year’s eighth edition the two highlights in the Bikepark Leogang are going to be the dirt jump competition 26TRIX as well as the iXS European Downhill Cup.

On Saturday evening, June 22nd we will know who is going to be the new 26TRIX champion. With the FMB World Tour Gold Event status, it is an event with a lot of world tour points up for grabs, as well as a handsome sum of prize money: A total of 20,000 Euro will be shared between the 12 finalists. The line-up is composed of 20 set riders and 10 pre-qualifiers, who will have to make it through the pre-qualification runs.

There is more good news for those fans who cannot make it to the Out of Bounds Festival from June 20th to 23rd at Bikepark Leogang: The 26TRIX finals will be streamed LIVE on www.redbull.com/bike. So, 26TRIX can be watched globally, LIVE!

The preliminary line up for the iXS European Downhill Cup is composed out of Europe’s absolute racer elite: Riders like Brendan Fairclough (GBR), Emmeline Ragot (FRA) and Austrian local hero Markus Pekoll (AUT). iXS European Downhill Cup in Leogang is perceived as a rehearsal for the upcoming UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup final stop in September.
The finals on Bikepark leogang’s notorious “Speedster” track take place on Sunday, June 23rd from 12:30pm. Further information about the Downhill spectacle can be found on:

Before watching the big guys shredding down on Sunday, kids will get their chance to shine: At the SCOTT Junior Trophy, kids from the age of 3 years onwards get the chance to have their first competition experience. More information about SCOTT’s Junior Trophy race is on:

There are plenty more activities to take part in during the Out of Bounds Festival which promise a lot of fun also for non-professional riders:
The traditional Out of Bounds bunny hop contest is open for everybody and will take place on Thursday, June 20th at 9:00pm in the downhill finish area in front of the B3. On Friday, June 21st you can show-off your skills on Leogang’s pumptrack course at the Pumptrack Contest, everybody should feel free to join in! Directly after the pumptrack contest, Leogang’s local bike club invites you to the Vingintisix Minibike-Race, a pure fun competition for everybody who is able to ride a bike. Registration for those events will be available on-site.

During the festival it is also worth visiting the bike expo area: You can get an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into professional mountain biking. Witness how riders prepare themselves for race day, observe the fine-tuning work of the team bike mechanics and familiarize yourself with the hustle-and-bustle of a competition run-down.
Anyone who has ever been to a Saalfelden Leogang bike event knows that the party is always a big part of Bikepark Leogang’s festival program. The best occasion to celebrate will be the 26TRIX after contest party on Saturday evening, June 22nd from 9:00pm in the event hall at bottom station of the bikepark.
