Barjarg - Some of Victoria's premier riding, known for it's incredible natural terrain, huge rock features and long rock gardens, was the setting for the second round of the Victorian Gravity Enduro series. The format for this race was 2 stages, the riders practiced on Friday and Saturday and then raced 2 separate tracks on the Sunday. The two trails raced where the Enduro trail and the Flow trail, 2 both challenging and fun trails, that was delivering smiles left, right and centre.
The weekend debuted new shuttle trailers, which is a step in the right direction, managing to eliminate the use of crank holder trailers, which destroy and twist the bike. These new trailers hold the bike by the front and rear wheels, accommodating wheel sizes from 24 to 29 inches. Managing to shuttle 160 riders in 50 minutes.
Riders from all disciplines come far and wide to ride at one of these ever growing enduro events, with a laid back and friendly atmosphere, there is no pressure and riders of all abilities are encouraged to participate.
From what I'm seeing from week to week in my oz workshop, australians like to compete. But they are racing on a cross country or a dh bike mainly. But if you have just one bike to do a bit of everything and you want to have some good fun once in while racing with your mates on weekends, you'd give it a go to enduro.
