Pivot Firebird 275 - 160 Millimeter All-Mountain Shredder
My conversation with Pivot..Interestingly the information I read on their press-release said they had made adjustments to the rear triangle. "So you know this question is going to be asked again and again.... Am I going to be able to convert my firebird to a 27.5 beast by getting the updated rear from you guys? Thanks!" Pivot Cycles Oli - We are not offering updated rear triangles but the current Firebird already fits a fairly wide variety of 27.5 tires. If you get a Cane Creek Angleset and slacken the head angle by 1.5 degrees and use a proper 27.5 (650) X 160mm travel fork, you will be in a close proximity to the set up of the new bike. Chris Cocalis was testing with this set up in public for the better part of a year and it gets you 95% of the way there. Good Luck! Oli Kasicki Thanks, I'll give it a go when I find some funds, looks like it would really help with efficiency for enduro, but does having the bigger wheels take much of the playfulness of the 'bird away? Pivot Cycles MORE FUN!

Pinkbike Poll - Should the UCI Restrict DH Racing to 26-Inch Wheels?
F1 would be much more fun if they were allowed to do whatever they wanted to make the cars faster. Ground effect cars were awesome. It's a race. Why make it slower? It's not like everyone isn't on the same playing field. If bigger wheels work for a course, you should probably be using them.

@dusty-bones not sure that its cheaper to get to NZ from the UK than the states or Canada! It probably costs us more to get to the airport and park than it does for a flight from LA to NZ!

Merry Christmas Everyone from CRC!
I did some just before -7C at night in the dark round the woods. Great fun, predicable grip, great for drifting! Not even the trauma of getting back to the road with some old guy shouting for help having hit a massive deer could bring us down. It was still alive with broken legs slap in the middle of the road. Didn't get to ride in the Alps, couldn't find anywhere to rent a bike so I could go down the ski runs. Had to stick to powder boarding :-) Had one of the best rides at the weekend though, found some amazing new trails in the Forest of Dean. Steep, off camber with very tight switchbacks. Beware the darkness of graded trail centers! (http://vimeo.com/14543395)

Merry Christmas Everyone from CRC!
Yeah I got the translation online :-) I'm going to the Alps tomorrow to get some proper mountains and de-stressing. My misses wont let me take a bike though, so I'm just taking pads and going to hire one there and take a day off boarding. Riding is riding, if you are in the city ride there, if you are in the countryside ride there... fun can always be found, it's how you ride not where. Come to the UK some time if you get a chance, it's not the Alps but we have lots of forest and singletrack, flights are cheap, and there's always a spare bike to borrow. Have a good one.
