It was the 2nd Annual Freeride Festival in Angel Fire, New Mexico and I was pretty stoked to show up this year. I spoke with Angel Fire Bike Park manager Hogan Koesis earlier in the month and he told me about the sweet prizes they were giving out (Fox clothing, 2012 Season passes, Full Angel Fire Bike Team sponsor for 2012, Smith glasses & goggles, tools, Commencial frame of your choice and many more). Dillon Lemarr and I packed up the car Wednesday, August 17th after attending the Suckerpunch at Sol Vista Bike Park and made our way down south.

The festival kicked off Friday evening with a game of B.I.K.E. in the skill's park. The whole weekend was a blast with awesome events such as long jump, potato sack racing, air DH and scavenger hunt. I was super happy that I was able to be part of the festival this year. There was free beer, prizes, great riding and hanging out with everyone. Can't wait till next year's.

no hype, no stupid expensive hotels, no massive line ups.....this just looks like a blast. i love the big events but sometimes the small mellow ones are just as fun if not more.

I just came back from this place last week. Im a kiwi but live in Panama and this was the first time I have experienced a lift access park.......Ive seen beautiful senery before and this place is amazing, the trails were soo much fun that by the 3rd day my buddies and I (who I had just met for the trip) were pushing bigger and faster than ever(ever being 72 hours before). The trails are so well built, I tip my helmet to the crew that work on the hill. The staff we came accros were such nice people even though they made fun of my hand cramps!! I had an absolute blast and my new friends and I have decided to make the trip back next year a week later so we can catch the festival............Did I mention I like this place?

Angelfire is such an epic mountain. BIG, BAD, and ROCKY. Place has sooo much potential and it looks as if their finally tapping into all the possibilities it has to offer.
