Loose Riders Global Alliance

The Club:
Loose Riders is a mountain bike club, focusing on all things gravity/bike related. What started in 2012 with a single Facebook page has grown into an international network of riders with chapters in Chiang Mai Thailand, Singapore, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Belgium, Christchurch, Queenstown with more to be announced.

Our mission is to connect riders all over the world, on a local level. Say you want to go ride in Thailand, New Zealand, Belgium … or wherever we have a chapter? Just hit up the local LOOSE RIDERS chapter for the best local knowledge from finding trails or somewhere to stay and party.

It doesn't matter if you are a newbie or a complete shredder, LOOSE RIDERS is all about getting out there, getting Loose and not taking taking life to seriously, on or off the bike.

Check out our HQ Loose Riders Global Alliance.

The Brand:
In 2013 we expanded and started a clothing line based on the need for straight forward, quality, affordable gear that would hold up to the abuse of gravity oriented bike riding.

Feeling that the “pro/pyjama” segment of the market has been taken care of we set out to create a line that has more old school flavour and is wearable on or off the bike. Normal fitting gear that won’t fall apart after a crash or a few washes, but when you do wreck hard enough to trash a jersey, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to get a new one.

We’re proud to introduce our 2014 Pro team riders:

Nico Vink
Eddie Masters
Gilles Dejong

The Edit:
This edit was filmed during a month long road trip in October/November 2013 in Thailand that featured team riders Nico Vink and Ed Masters.

We started off in the capital city of Bangkok and headed to the beach towns of Hua Hin, Rayong and surrounding areas to ride, hang out and party with the locals. After some southern shenanigans we made our way up to northern city of Chiang Mai to compete in the Chiang Mai Downhill Challenge 2.

The CDC 2 was a fun race organized by the LOOSE RIDERS Chiang Mai Chapter which was attended by Steve Peat, Josh Bryceland, Wyn Masters and Sam Dale.

After an epic couple of weeks of riding and mayhem we waved goodbye to Ed Masters and headed back down south to Rayong. Plagued by bad weather and more than a few hangovers we still managed to find some rad terrain to ride and were able to wrap up the edit by building Nico’s quarry line.

We all had a great time and we hope this edit shows what we are all about. We would like to thank all those who helped out along the way.

An extra thanks goes out to Bart Cautaerts for photos, video and sick edit and Mike Sakas for the extra footage and awesome photography.

Reminds me of old school mtb films, so sick. Just looks like an absolute laugh with mates while pinning it and smashing jumps. Got me so psyched to ride.

Haha sounds like they are explaining a biker gang (like the hells angels). This is a good idea tho one day i would like to go on a mtb trip outside of my area and the best way to find out about local trails is to connect with the locals.

 they got hills in Anvers?
  • 6 0
Only in the red light district Wink
  • 1 1
Do they got hills everywhere in Canada....?¿ Anvers is not a country buddy... I lived in Van for a while, Whistler was a 2 hour drive..., same goes for hills in Belgium ;-) ! for good tracks we take the car and drive 4-6 hours, but then we go a whole weekend----way more "Loose Riding" !!

I am well aware that Anvers is a town in Belgium, having lived in Bruxel 17 years. Yes whistler is 1.5 hour away but most of our riding is local, 0 to 5 to 10 to 30 minutes away in the lower main land. Mountains are located on both coast of Canada and it is flat in between. I supose the riding in the Ardene is good? 4 to 6 hours is a long way to go! that would be like going to Kamloops or Golden BC. weekend trip for sure.

I know... Loved to go riding in Lynn valley ... the Northshore, grouse mtn, cypress and squamish, all beautiful places to go riding.... if it was up to me, would love to go back, but never gonna get a work permit with the job im doing.... so Europe (and Belgium ofcourse) it wil be... . Sure, the ardennen have a few good spots...but it gets boring after a while...and only one spot has an uplift so... :-S in any case Ride on!! (PS.: Brussel sucks hehehe)
