I built up a 2015/2016 Jackal frame recently and have rode it once. Need some money for medical stuff so figured I would post it up to see if I get any bites. Not looking to give it away though. It has a top end build on it. I have a 10spd shifter, derailleur and cassette I can sell as well and a set of SLX brakes (front/rear) if you want to make it into more of a slalom bike. Frame is brand new but everything else is around a year old and in great shape. Not Trades. Not parting out. Asking 1,800 obo. Buyer pays shipping and paypal fee. Would consider trade for a all mountain 650b hardtail. Aaron Gwin and Specialized Part Ways - Here's Why
I think it is a smart move on both parts to go their separate ways. Props to Gwin for sticking to his guns on what he feels he should be valued at. I think that was a bold move and will ultimately change the pay scale for all DH riders. Grand Tour riders get a lot more money I would bet than DH or any MTB discipline. Obviously there is another brand out there that wants to put their money behind a top tier DH racer. It could also be a case where Gwin gets his money from someone outside the industry and just picks up a frame sponsor which would allow another company to have him ride their bikes for less money out of their pocket and they can offer up any changes he wants to make along the way with the frame. Specialized doesn't need to hang on to him either. They clearly put a little more money into EWS with Graves coming on board and Brosnan is the perfect DH rider for them for marketing. He is young, quick, super likeable and now they have him running all Specialized gear. He is the poster child for their new gravity clothing line and at a World Cup level. Gwin was not going to give up Troy Lee for Specialized gear. I bet whoever they bring in to replace Gwin comes at a much lower price tag than he had and they run the full Specialized gear like Troy. Hopefully Troy can be the head guy on the DH team instead of being second fiddle to Hill, Brendawg and Gwin. I think he has earned it.
