Trek Slash

$1000 USD
Selling my 2012 Trek Slash (26"). Bike is in great shape, I haven't ridden it much in the past 3 years as I have owned other bikes as well. This is definitely a do it all bike, I've ridden it on everything from local XC to the biggest jump lines and gnarliest tech trails on the east coast. A lot of parts are not stock, as I have changed out wheels, forks, drivetrain, tires and cockpit over the years. The suspension is the real highlight of this build, a 2015 Lyrik RC2 (170 mm) and Push tuned Float RC3 (160 mm) work really well together and are in excellent condition. The only major issue with the bike is the dropper post - sometimes it sinks a little bit when you sit down, but this can easily be fixed with a bleed. Full spec is as follows: Fork: 2015 Lyrik Rc2 170 mm Shock: Fox Float Rc3, push tuned 160 mm Brakes: Avid X0 Cranks: Sram X0 Wheels: Bontrager Cousin Earl Drivetrain: 1x10, Shimano Zee short throw derailleur Tires: Maxxis 2.5 DHF (front), 2.4 High Roller 2 (rear) Dropper: 125 mm Reverb Bars: Spank Spike 777Fr (cut to 765)

Video: Andrew Taylor Visits Ohio, New York & Vermont - AT's Ultimate 48 State Road Trip
Met him at Mountain Creek closing weekend, super nice guy. Definitely missed out on some epic stuff in Vermont and New York though, pretty much drove straight by a lot of my all time favorite riding riding spots.

Process: How Chromag Makes a Bike - Video
Yes, as another 26" Stylus owner I can agree that 26 will never actually be dead. Most fun bike I could even imagine riding.

Suspension Travel - What's Your Ideal Amount? - Pinkbike Poll
I was totally on the bigger is better bandwagon until I threw a leg over a Chromag hardtail. Needless to say my opinion has drastically changed, and I'd recommend at least demoing/trying something on the smaller side; if you have the handling skills to back it up, there is a whole new level of excitement out on the trail.

Do You Ride Responsibly? – Poll
Nobody should be going out trying to destroy trails, but you can't equate getting a bit loose with destroying trails. Especially where there is no lift/shuttle access you can't expect me to pedal my ass to the top of a hill and then not shred it as hard as I can back down. But yeah, going out in the rain and rutting up a well-built trail is generally not cool around here.

First thing I did after watching that video was search engineering jobs in Revelstoke, BC. Probably could have guessed that nothing would come up

Brannigan and the New Commencal Meta HT AM - Video
Highly recommend the Chromags. Maybe a little pricey, but I got a used Stylus and it's unreal. I'm still running 26 and I ride some really rowdy trails on it so I don't think that's an issue at all. They have a bunch of frames that fall in the 26+/275 range.
