The Line - Part 1

Dec 3, 2010 at 16:32
by Marco Toniolo
Dennis Switch hasn't been sleeping well for many days. His life was as good as usual, but he was focusing on something special that has been on his mind for years now, and from that came his fear and nightmares. The work was only a way to earn some money, nothing more.

Follow the line with Mr. Switch...

sick XC ride, but Wuts the deal with the pig and him chipping at the stone?
  • 6 0
I think this could be the first blending of mtb films and absurdist cinema. I shall very much look forward to the second part.

  • 8 1
i think they would go to fast ad fall of the clif, un less he was sam hill
  • 7 1
Why use a DH bike for something that is ridden easily on an AM bike?
  • 5 0
he needs to learn how to use a hammer, and whats with the pig thing?! epic scenery tho
  • 9 0
what the hell was this all about? lol
  • 3 1

That was the trippiest shit I've ever seen on pinkbike...
  • 1 0
 hell yea that was tripppy
  • 1 0
The video wasnt abt showing somebody hammering it out on a DH ride, and that trail would be retarded on a DH bike anyways, its a trail you want to be able to pedal on.
  • 3 0
hes got his cornering technique dialled though...
  • 1 0
Dirtbagbiker - I'd be right with you on mine! Slayers are sweet! a DH bike would be overkill for that trail - An AM would dice it. Can't wait for pt 2.
  • 1 0
yeah i loved my 08 sxc70, but i dont have it any more because i was in debt on it and wanted something better for freeride and all that...great bike though.

i think the pig is referred to a creation of david lynch if i'm not wrong the rest is goin to be a six episode movie created by marco toniolo and sponsorized by rose bikes grande marcooooo
  • 6 1
 Wow @ 5:15 , that shot was soooo smooth , how'd u do that?

Also, am I the only one that thinks X-0 cranks and a coil shock look wrong together?

And what's with the pig??
  • 2 0
Probably just followed him down with a steadycam, i dunno... sick shot though
  • 2 0
It's not a coil shock on his bike?
  • 1 0
 yeah I know I just saw ...

I meant to say big travel bike + X-0 cranks
  • 1 0
nah thats what enduro AM bikes are about, descending like Dh bikes and climbing like XC ones.
  • 3 0
Beautiful scenery and maybe the pig was the thought of his day-job haunting his waking-ride? Just like Life Cycles, I'm digging this artistic/weird-out mountain bike video; we sure have plenty of regular riding videos with incredible action in them, so why not, right?
  • 6 0
Nice Vid... Pig was a little weird.... but some beautiful scenery.
  • 2 0
Great work and use of plot Smile

It's nice to see something other than people shouting "killer" and "sick" while showing some obviously killer and sick riding. So if you can't guess . . . I'm hooked and looking forward to the next part.

cool stuff, i like that theres a random rock hammer and pig in a cape! trail looks lush, shame the downhill is wasted in those tight switchbacks!
  • 3 0
maybe they are 'symbols' of some kind Smile

i bet there will be more in part II
  • 1 0
As much as I love watching guys shred downhill lines this is the sort of thing I'd love to ride... I rather like putting in the effort to get the joy ride down and the scenery and exposure is wicked!
  • 4 0
he was probs haveing a bad dream

 what was that song?

I need to learn that turn technique on the switchbacks.
  • 1 0
it just takes practice, and its totally learnable if you have a front brake. the reason I think you don't see it very often is pros normally find a way to roll stuff faster and smoother, but it is still fun.
  • 1 0
I think there were some switchbacks that he could have turned rolling and was not necessary to hop like that, what dou you guys think?
  • 4 0
 mind. r*ped

  • 1 2
 Love the place.
Hate endo turns.

(Having a Mr.Angry week, so give me some slack, but why? why? why? All of those Zs could be ridden smoothly. Much smoother than that. Second vid in a month where they do that).
  • 1 0
agreed. Every feckin AM rider on pinkbike does them.
  • 1 0
Not just on pinkbike, it shows more skill to endo a turn like that. than it would just just turn it.
  • 1 0
Its just so you can get a sharper turn, and once your good at it, a safer one.
  • 1 0
I can see why he does it but i'd like to see him learn to stoppie them instead... but then again I can see why he might not want to try stoppies there.
  • 1 0
dono but it look's too psychedelic 4 me something was about to happend and then... ?? Big Grin Big Grin
  • 1 0
why did they put the pig in there . it would be funny if it was gee atherton. maybe we will find out in future episodes
