So far in 2015....

Hi all,

Well after a few too many cheese boards, chocolates and mulled wines January certainly came round with a thud…..!

With the BDS entries opening on the 3rd of Jan I was keen to make sure my name was down on the list. Sitting waiting for 9:00 to roll round I sat with my card and a few clicks later I was entered and ready to line up against the fastest guys on 2 wheels.

Since picking up the Identiti Mogul from the guys at Ison Distribution apart from a few tweaks suspension wise I have found it really easy to jump on and just give it some stick! Especially coming back after my injury I thought I would be more tentative but the bike is really confidence inspiring.

Having ridden at places such as Stile Cop, Woburn Sands and Ribbesford I have been keen to see how the bike reacts over different types of terrain and it’s been a pleasure to ride. I am still buzzing from the ride with the guys at Woburn last weekend as it was a good laugh and reminded us all why we ride and that’s to have fun!!

Sending a booter at Woburn on my Identiti Mogul

Sending it at Woburn

There is obviously the more serious side to my riding and whilst training is going well I can’t wait to be back at 110% fitness. The ankle is feeling more “normal” the more I do, as I know I have a way to go but small and steady progressive steps I hope are leading me back to a full recovery.

Talking about competitive riding, this weekend brings my first race since June 2014 and it should be a banger as it’s Round 2 of the 661 Mini DH at Forest of Dean. I have not been there in years and am really looking forward to it as I know that place has some awesome tracks. At the last check there were over 65 riders in my category which will be great to see how my training and speed stacks up. As it’s the first race back I have no expectations but to give 110%, catch up with people I haven’t seen in ages….OH and keep it rubber side down!

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year and I look forward to seeing you on the trails soon!

Will let you all know how things go over the weekend!

Cheers,

Matt

Good luck with the racing dude. I'd say you'd have a big advantage with your stamina and endurance
