What a summer it has been for Thredbo MTB, hosting the third annual Cannonball Festival, Downhill and XC National's, Australian Interschools, and now they have finished the final event of the summer season in style with Rocky Trail Entertainments State RedAss Downhill Enduro and Fox
#Superflow rounds. New to this year is the Downhill Enduro. A downhill race on a downhill track with a 2 run format on the same track, with the combined times counting.
The local, Thomas Crimsons didn't show up to back up his double win in the elite category. Brent smith looked confident in seeding, taking the top spot by over 2 seconds with a
"terrible run", only to fall short in finals allowing Oliver Zwar to wrap it up!
The Elite Women had a small field of only three riders, but Kellie Weinert stood out all weekend and took the win in fine form. Sian Ahern stepped up from where she should be in U19's to take third only a few seconds back aboard her new Norco Aurum.
In the Juniors, Josh Clark, Baxter Maiwald and Harry Parsons all stepped up into Elite men for the race, but unfortunately Josh had a bad crash on Saturday leaving him out of the hunt with possible torn ligaments in his shoulder. Ben Zwar took the win in U19's in front of Patrick Butler (stepped up from U17's). Ellie Smith once again obliterated her competition in both the Flow and Downhill events, taking the win in the U17's flow and U19's downhill.
