"Crazy, crazy, crazy." Those were Fabien Barel's words as he strode towards the ocean to cool down after his race. He has always raced hard, without compromise, and if you're going to ride like that, then sooner or later you're going to get hurt. And Fabien has sure been hurt over the years, smashing more parts of his body than he'd probably care to count. When he went down in Chile this year, fracturing his spine, there were a few whispers about whether he'd be able to reach the heights he'd once scaled. Yet the determination that drove him to three DH world titles is not diminished, and this weekend we may see what ranks as one of his greatest ever rides...

Nico Lau finished 26 seconds off the lead after 38 minutes of racing. It seems unfair to say he was off the pace this weekend, but that's where the series is these days.

While he may not have looked phased this morning Barelli clocked up 19th and 11th today dropping him back to fifth. While this isn t the win he maybe hoped for it is his best EWS result yet.

Anne-Caroline Chausson s aggression was clearly what made the difference for her this weekend - while Tracy had everything to lose she had nothing and threw everything at the race course to try and take the title.

What can you say about Fab Barel In Chile this year he fractured five vertebrae and is still in physio trying to fully overcome that horrific injury. This weekend he came here with no expectations he just wanted to take it day-by-day and see if he could complete the race. In the end even he could not seem to believe what he achieved. He was still trying to get his head around what he achieved when he headed for the podium.

Richie Rude was on the fast track to take his first podium today. With a seventh place on stage five it was looking like today would be the day for him untill heartbreakingly his chain snapped on stage six. Rude certainly has his head wrapped around Enduro he will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

A well-deserved beer for the man who was simply too strong for his competition this year. He admits that Jerome getting injured had a negative impact on his riding he struggled a bit under the expectation that he would win not feeling how he wanted to on the bike until La Thuile but despite all the strong riders coming through he had that extra edge at the end of the day. Now 12 months on from the disappointment of watching Jerome lift the crown here in Finale he has achieved his goal - Jared Graves is your 2012 Enduro World Series champion.

I know everyone's stoked for Graves and Barel, but I think T-Mo deserves some props too. She's now DH world champion, dh world cup overall winner, national 4x champ and now 2x EWS Champ, she's got some major skills on a bike and a worthy winner.

True legend of the sport. Also the 2nd year for the Trek Factory Enduro team to take the Team ovrerall. Congrats T-Mo, Rene Wildhaber and Justin Leov.

You can see her clear-headed strategy in the photo of her riding into that dip, too. That is top level racing, finishing right where she needed for the title, focused and taking no extra risk. So cool.

That's no joke, been in the Med a half dozen times and been stung by jelly fish every single time. Does nothing to take away from the magic that is floating in the Mediterranean. Finale Ligure is definitely on my bucket list of places to ride.

Errors and omissions like this make it seem as though the races are being covered by people that don't really follow the sport, or just don't care enough about it to bother making sure they've got their facts straight. To be fair, I don't actually believe either of those things to be true. Of course Matt Wragg and the other Pinkbike writers care about the sport, clearly putting a lot effort into bringing their readers the best coverage they can in as timely a fashion as possible. That's one reason why I personally don't get so wound up over the occasional typo the way a lot of other readers do. Sure, grammar spelling and punctuation are important, but not nearly as important as an accurate reporting of the results is. Can you imagine a sports reporter that covers baseball, soccer, hockey, or any other sport really, misreporting the scores or win/loss records of the teams and/or players in the sports they cover? Seems pretty unlikely to me. Pinkbike reporters, I beseech you, take the extra time to double check things like whether or not a racer has finished on the podium before, or to make sure racers are referred to by the correct name. It's just like how long it took, and how many times various readers had to point out that Myriam Nicole's nickname is Pompon, before you guys finally stopped referring to her as Pompom. Just to satisfy my own curiosity, I started the stopwatch on my phone and then went to the Enduro World Series website and scrolled down the results for this years races and found Richie Rude's 2nd place finish at Winter Park. It took 24.5 seconds. I understand that you are working under deadlines and that it's crucial that your reports get posted as soon as possible, but please take the following into consideration. Fact checking > spell checking.
