Mountain Creek Bike Park opened for the 2015 season this past weekend, May 2, with sunny skies, comfortable temperatures and great trail conditions. Despite a long winter and lingering snow on the mountain, the Mountain Creek Bike Park Trail Crüe was able to launch with 100% terrain for opening weekend. The first gondola of the season started spinning promptly at 9am and riders took full advantage of the epic conditions and new additions to some of the most popular trails up until last call at 6pm. The Biergarten whipped up BBQ favourites and refreshing beverages for guests to unwind in between laps.
The Mountain Creek Bike Park will operate on weekends until June 28 and will then switch to daily operations through the rest of the season, ending Sunday, November 1. For beginners and those looking to progress their skills, Mountain Creek Bike Park provides an all-inclusive 'Experience Downhill' Package, featuring 2-hours of guided instruction, a downhill rental bike and protective equipment, all for one low price. In addition to lessons and rentals, the Trail Crüe has plans to open a new top to bottom beginner trail this July. The Bike Park has a great season of events, camps and trail expansions lined up for this summer, starting with one of the most popular races, the Spring Classic Pro GRT May 28-31. MENTIONS: @MCBP
I have a newbie question. I plan to visit MCBP for the very first time in a couple weeks. Do I have to use a DH MTB on the slopes, or can I survive riding a XC or trail MTB? I do not have a DH bike and would like to use my Stumpy FSR instead . Can my bike and I survive the green and maybe even the blue MCBP slopes?
Appreciate comments.
