Who was the guy gapping the rock garden at the bottom after the wooden bridge type right hander? Anyway, he deserves props! As too does Graves for beating the pants off a "little" bike, Stevie for popping a no-hander for the crowd (even though he was obviously disappointed), Sam Hill for walking off that high speed crash, Mitch's wheels for saying "Well no actually, we 29ers don't always roll the best through rooty turns", Mick for making me shout "Go on fella" like a lunatic at my laptop. Rach for winning and then talking about her "medium knickers", Greg for winning by wringing that tracks neck.... ....and finally, the PMB track itself deserves some props for not being anywhere near as sh*t as everyone tried to make out.
Best write up I've ever read. Best part for me was Rach. Seriously fast, seriously funny and seriously cool! Greg definitely deserved his win. Well done to all of them.
Gutted for Sik Mik and Ropelato. Minaar may have won, but Miks' run was way crazier to watch. His speed through the tables! Really wanted Ropelato to put in a good run too, just to see what he (and the bike) could do at race speed. Stevie needs to throw those no-handers and such in his full speed race runs, we need a new Gracia. Lastly, where does Minaar find time?!?! His ability to reel guys in on the last 30 seconds of a run is incredible. The guy is an animal. To Old-Man-Eggy, the guy who gapped the rock garden was Sik Mik; however I do believe a few others did.
Happy for Greg and sorry for Mick (it must hurt to end second best in this race...). Great Simmonds, this young guy is growing sooo fast. Great Hill (it will be for 2014 flat pedal's mate). Great Lorenzo Suding to left behind racers like MacDonald, Beaumont, Thirion. Great Marcelo (is this his first World Cup and World Championships, isn't it'). Great Steve, top 20 again. Great Rachel, a class by her own.
that course wasn't suited for Barel. They don't have a lift and rigging up dummy floorboards in the shuttle van can be tricky. The Rosie Ruiz of bike racing.
He had some kind of stomach bug thru the week and it obviously had enough of an effect on him by finals. Too bad, as he would have surely made the podium at full-strength. As with crashes and mechanicals, that is racing.
I think he well represented his jersey by finishing the course, make a show at the bottom, Styling every inch of the track, this with the anger and the sadness of falling after turn one... He could've simply go aside the track and DNF, but he doesn't. Notice that No one did that, and those riders deserve more respect of you moron...
If you know your already like 8 seconds back, you know you can't win and your mind isnt in it after a crash so I he tried to go hard then he had a good chance of really crashing and injuring himself, its not worth the risk at that point
paulo ... if you actually knew what you were talking about that would be ok , but picture this , biggest race of the year , months of training , and you wash out in the 1st corner and lose at least 5 seconds , what is the point in carrying on charging and maybe getting injured ?
I say fair play to him for doing some moves on the way down , I personally would of went f*cking nuts and lost my head in the red mist , respect to smith to at least making it look like he was having fun...
Wow, you argument is soooooOOOOO relevant, teach me master!! I don't insult you because you are Chilean, You would be upset if i told you are a f@cking useless chilean, because your nationality deserves respect, unlike your brain...
i don't need any other good arguments... I'm not be upset cause you told me this... becasue you are french! haha and actually I'm not very proud about my nationality, I'm proud to be born in chile... ps: my brain is ok, I live in the south of chile haha
....and finally, the PMB track itself deserves some props for not being anywhere near as sh*t as everyone tried to make out.
