Dartmoor's Trail Ring, Roots grip, and petrol coated Micron stem are all new for 2014.

Dartmoor is entering the narrow wide chain ring market with their Trail Ring, which will initially be available for cranks with a 104 BCD in 32, 34, and 36 tooth versions. A 30 tooth version is also in the works. Constructed from 7075 aluminum and weighing in at 45.4 grams for the 34t version, the ring is expected to retail for $44.99 when it hits the market sometime in the next two months.

The new Roots lock-on grips are constructed from a soft rubber compound with an extra deep pattern on the underside, a design intended to provide extra traction in wet conditions. With an external diameter of 32mm, these grips are thicker than most lock-on offerings. MSRP: $29.99.

Dartmoor launched their petrol chrome plated Cody dirt jump frame last year at Eurobike, and now they've expanded the limited edition finish to their dirt jump stems and hubs. The aluminum Micron stem comes in a 30mm length and is only compatible with 25.4mm handlebars. MSRP: $79.99

BOX Components

BOX Components' new 35mm handlebar and Cusp stem.

BOX Components were exhibiting their uniquely shaped 35mm carbon handlebar that departs from the typical round profile most riders are accustomed to seeing. The portion on each side of the area clamped by the stem resembles a hexagon with a rounded bottom portion, and there is an additional protrusion on the top of the bar. BOX says this design isn't any stronger than a traditionally shaped bar - it's done purely for aesthetic purposes. The bars will be available in three different versions - a 700mm flat bar, a 760mm length with 15mm of rise, and a 780mm width with 30mm of rise. Weights are expected to range from 145 to 180 grams depending on the configuration. MSRP: $139 USD. To accompany their new handlebars, BOX also had a new stem for 35mm handlebars called the Cusp that will be available in 45, 55, and 65mm lengths, along with a direct mount stem for use with dual crown forks.

Onza Tires

Onza 2014 Citius
Onza's new Citius tire.

Onza's new Citius (Latin for 'faster') tire is aimed at riders looking for an aggressive tread pattern designed to work well in a wide range of trail condition conditions. Previously only available in a DH version for 26" wheels, the Citius is now being produced in a 27.5 x 2.4" version with Onza's dual compound construction. The tubeless ready Citius' claimed weight is 955 grams, and although final pricing hasn't been confirmed, it is expected to retail for somewhere between $75-$85 USD. Both a skin wall and traditional version will be offered.

The Greina (left) and Ibex.

Onza's Greina tire is the company's wet weather specialist, with widely spaced knobs designed to dig in and grip in the nastiest conditions around. 26 x 2.25" and 26 x 2.4" versions are offered, with weights ranging from 730 to 1050 grams. We were pleasantly surprised by the performance of Onza's Ibex tires when we first encountered them on our Mondraker Dune test bike, and for 2014 the number of size options is expanding, with a 27.5 x 2.25" version and a 29 x 2.25" version joining the 27.5 x 2.4" version.

Box's bar shape is done purely for aesthetic purposes? At least they're being upfront about it. Most companies would come up with some kind of "the hexagonal shape's torsional rigidity compliments the rounded parts' weight saving" BS. There's nothing wrong with aesthetics and at least Box tells it like it is

ya it does look great, i really like that bar/stem combo! I am really excited to see what Box comes out with in the next year or so. They really making some very impressive parts.
  • 5 1
And $139 for a carbon 780mm bar that weighs 180g is pretty impressive as well
  • 3 1
I was thinking the same thing. I think it looks pretty rad, and the price is damned good.

Onza Citius looks like a crazy hybrid of a minion and a Tioga comp 3 from 1983!
  • 1 2
And the ibex looks so close to a hr2 its ridiculous. Are minions really so good that everybody has to copy them?
  • 3 0
Yep. Minions really are that good. I've tried many others that came highly recommended, but I keep going back.
  • 8 0
You will be surprised, but the Ibex is older than the hr2 Wink

I've heard that Onza was re-established by some designer from Maxxis. It could explain the similarity in tire designs, if the rumour is true.

That Greina isn't a million miles away from a Wet Scream either.
  • 3 1
Still, probably is way better than the Wet Scream. (I guess the name comes from your scream when you see roots on the track and you now you are f***ed, because the tire is... well, not good)
  • 1 0
Joppy try some hutchinson barracudas. Grip just as well as minions and brake even better.

Liking the look of that Onza's Greina tire, mud tyres make excellent loam tyres, love a spike on the front all year round. Nice to see a 29" tyre with a decent width (wider than the standard 2.0" mud) - does anyone know how these look size wise? Is it a real 2.25 or are they 'large' for their size like schwalbe tyres turn out?
  • 1 0
Is anyone thinking that 800-1000 gr. for a 29" tire is a lot? I'm not thinking that it's a good idea. Build a 2.35 or 2.4 that has a decent sidewall, tread and tubeless at 600 gr ish.

Hooray for Maxxis still supporting the 26" trail bike with the new Shorty Exo!

Box need to do a 25 &35mm stem if they want to move with the modern day anesthetic and practical function
  • 2 0
Probably the cheapest NW chainring in the market? 45USD
  • 1 0
I really want a pair of those grips, 130mm, nice wide lock on grip
  • 1 0
What bike are those box things on?
  • 2 0
 Foes F275
  • 2 1
If Dartmoor would actually warrant their frames on time instead of making grips and chainrings that would be great..
  • 2 0
It's a problem with your local distributor not the company. Dartmoor customer service in Poland (the home country of Dart) is amazing.
  • 1 1
I happen to closely know the distributor. Believe me, it's not. Smile
  • 1 0
Then why the warranty is so much better here in Poland? The evil delivery men steal the frames? Wink
  • 1 0
Cuz you haven't had need of it eventually..
  • 1 0
I haven't had need of what?
  • 1 0
Go Dartmoor! Wink I'm still waiting for Hornet full suspension goddammm...

No i wrócił srebrny metalik czyli jeden z najładniejszych kolorów Smile

-"222/63 "chyba 216x63 popularny rozmiar i większa dostępność.
  • 1 0
Pełne pancerze możesz sobie zrobić samemu używając uchwytu Accenta za parę złotych. Jak wejdzie damper 222 to 216 również Smile
  • 1 0
  • 1 0
that Dartmoor stem though, sshhhawwinnggg !!!!!!!!!!!
  • 1 0
