Hey everyone, Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on what I've been up to. I realize that it's been a while since I've released any news and a lot of you would like to know my plans for next year. First, I'd just like to say a huge thank you for your excitement, the amount of interest that I've gotten during this new step in my career has been crazy. I'd hoped that I could have announced the news weeks ago, but it just didn't work out. As you can imagine, there are a lot of pieces that need to be put together when building a top-level program, from the ground up. I've only had a few short months to take this on and I've done my best to make sure that every last detail was attended to at the highest level possible. That being said, I'm very happy with how the whole team has come together. I'm also super excited to begin a relationship with a few new personal sponsors. Well, that's it for now. Big thanks again to everyone for the support during this time. I've got a team photo/video shoot to do next week and then we'll be ready to release the goods! Hope you guys have a great weekend, can't wait to see some of you at the local races very soon! -Aaron Gwin |

Aaron Gwin riding for Brazzers 2016.
"That's a dick move Aaron...either share....or just dont say anything"

AARON GWIN JOINS CONSIGNOR YT
Dimitri Lehner - World Cup overall winner Aaron Gwin left Sponsor Specialized - to the surprise of the scene. But with what the bike wants quick Ami 2016 points? Now it's out: Gwin runs the bikes of the consignor YT.
David vs. Goliath: Who would have thought that the Up & Coming label YT would the manufacturer giants Specialized relax from the Frankish Forchheim its fastest horse: Downhill superstar Aaron Gwin of California. The surprising if only because the Forchheimer took gradually a freeride star after another under contract. Meanwhile, for example, drive Rampage winner Andreu Lacondeguy, FMB-World Champ Cam Zink, Allstar Robbie Bourdon, Super Flipper Kelly McGarry, double front flipper Bienve Alba and FMB-Star Yannick Granieri for Young Talent Industries.
As the scene asks legitimately as the small German shipper can afford these celebrities and now even comes with the fastest bikers in the world at the World Cup at the start. A co-operation should make it possible. Together with Red Bull, KTM Motorcycles and Audi wants to stem the costs, maximize marketing and heave the support on a level not witnessed YT.
The fact that a motorcycle manufacturer for the Downhill World Cup interested, reminiscent of Honda's commitment about ten years ago, when the Japanese with silver custom cars and Greg Minnaar as a figurehead celebrated great successes.
Exciting, a Worldcup hardly be called the first race in Lourdes, France (9-10. April). We ask ourselves: Will it create Gwin to continue his winning streak on the new bike? And what if not? Specialized had to experience a marketing Gau, as for Gwin Trek joined Specialized after his serial successes and contributed in an unprecedented fiasco. Gwin has been completely passed on the Specialized Demo and ended the season among the also-rans. Only with the new demo, he made it back to his usual form and was the Downhill World Cup again dominate.
We are all passionate about the sport and are all keen to know what's going on. This on going Bullshit wouldn't be happening at all if there weren't silly little drawings and none statements flying around the media.
What do we know now that we didn't three months ago? Nothing. But somehow the conversation keeps appearing.
It is getting very tired.
No way YT is creating a "team" with at least 3 riders in .... !!
Awkwaaaaaard
" ...from the ground up". CUBE ? you ask
- CUBE hasn't had a Pro-Level DH team yet so they have to build it from the ground up.

Yet no one can take a serious article seriously?
What Aaron can and can't do, by contract, doesn't hold others back. You think Freerider mag just conveniently put something together for fun?
The cats outta the bag. Has been for a while.

i'm pretty sure i've seen other kiloprops as well.
Complicated?
Looks like he's signing up with Taylor Swift.
To sound like r2d2

It's in german... but to sum it up: it will be an english speaking team with "riders who are definitely not unknown and do have world cup experience"
Oooh the suspense
Cube should definitely have the money. They are very big in germany/europe... much bigger than YT and maybe also bigger than Canyon.
And with Cube making a replica of the Action team bikes, Team Wanty group, etc. they are probably also looking to do the same for their 2017 dh line up/Cube Global Squad model. "Personal Sponsors" seems to conflict when planning an OEM production.
Can't tell from the other pic, way to blurry when I zoom on the phone ????
new bike....?....maybe
new team...?....looks like
new sponsors...?....seems like
new outside interest....?.....apparently
is there anything this man can not do for dh mountain biking....?....doesn't seem to be (damn world champs)...
aaron gwin......THANK YOU !

Aside from appearing in complied edits from UCI DH races, what other video edits did we see from Gwin in 2015?
I cant remember any except for riding DH on a KTM motorbike.
I bet that was a huge frustration for Specialized.. many on here would suggest their most marketable athlete, however he spent his time making a video for a different company capitalizing on the success he has for riding DH yet completely ignoring the fact that Specialize pay his wages.
I'd wager that any contract negotiations he is in include a number of caveats that he must produce a number of brand specific edits/exposure and that there will be penalties if he fails to do so.
Lets say that YT pony up part of the cash he wanted from Spec.. but he has to get KTM to pony up the difference. He then goes and hurts himself dicking about on a KTM moto and can't race for the season.. YT are absolutely going to want non-appearance penalties written into his contract.
Big bucks have to come with a big guarantee of return on the investment.
Of course, I'll stick with the belief that he's dun messed up and is out whoring like an std ridden prostitute trying to sell any trick in his bag to get himself to this magic number that he came up with when he calculated his theoretical worth to specialized....
I honestly hope I'm proved wrong and that he is indeed paving the way for athletes to diversify their sponsorship opportunities with brands outside the obvious... hurry up and wait I guess. Still, we'll never know the numbers or the details.
Yeah, well, watch me put an article on Pinkbike about absolutely nothing and get more hits than WC final coverage!!!
This statement right here makes me think that HE'S starting HIS OWN team.
The YT rumors would make more sense then to the people who are wondering how YT could afford to pay him and start a WC team at the same time.
It may be that his team will be riding YT bikes, and his backers are KTM and Audi.
Heck, some SX/MX'ers have done it. Reed, Stewart, Pastrami I believe...
It has to be really hard to press the buttons on your keyboard in the right order
Jk, obviously still freakin excited.

They have the money, he is already a great brand ambassador and would allow him free reign of bike choices, though my guess is he would be riding a KTM rather than the much blogged YT.
CUBE another german bike brand will have a new world cup team with two members, both speaking english?!
This could be the answer, why they built a new downhill bike for 2016...
we will see...
I guess a part of the reason why this is getting such huge attention (aside from him being the best in the sport currently) is we're all curious to know which company(s) is willing to give him the pay he's requesting.
