Trek Announces Fuel EX 27.5+
@WasatchEnduro: well your right in that there are so many variables, but in my case this is easy. I had a 2012 26" santacruz blur LTC so it was very easy to isolate the advantages being so similar. I can say that the 11 speed drive train gave a slight leg up, but I most notice the advantage on the climbs I have some techy rooty rocky climbs that are just gobbled up and with the lower tire pressure I'm able to run I notice some of the rocks and roots that used to require more control on my part are now able to hold the line much easier. it's not the height of the tire as it's only 2.8, it's the width and the low pressure on those 40 id rims. I also don't notice that the rear travel is slightly less.

Trek Announces Fuel EX 27.5+
@ctd07: Respectfully, there is a noticeable advantage at least for me. I had no intention of grabbing a "plus" bike, but after demoing the new SC hightower, I did just that. not only did I have a blast riding it, my normal times on trail loops were faster. I was a skeptic. I've converted.

Trailforks App Summer Update
@canadaka: I'm tech illiterate, but could a solution be for Strava or Garmin info/data to be linked?

Scott Trail Protect FR 16 Pack - Review
@Dobbs59: I have the camelbak "fanny pack" and I initially had gripes about the fit, but there's a sweet spot on the hips and the right amount of tightness that lets it sit just right at your "Ass Neck" so as not to restrict, and also not slide off your rear end. The Goldilocks of ass placement if you will.

Double Vision: Kona Release the New Hei Hei Carbon - Video
That's what I'm aiming for as well. I have the hightower with the 27.5 plus and will slowly build a 29 xc with the same new standards and swap accordingly.

@kirchenschlager: they may be aware of other competing concepts that may be on the horizon, and holding out on a decision.

Ion K-Lite Zip Knee Pads - Review
despite the negativity, I see some positives. I'd feel better charging through rough terrain in these.

Rocky Mountain's New Pipeline - First Look
@g-42: unfortunately i don't have those direct comparisons. I've ridden a Giant trance x 29, and the bronson 27.5 I just have really loved my blur ltc, and I felt a huge advantage in the larger wheels. Before buying, I had it narrowed down to the Mach 429, and the scott Genius plus. in particular, I was looking at chainstay length, overall weight, and price point/specs, and reviews from vitalmtb etc. this rockymountain would have definitely been on the list as well, but it looks as though it's not 29 compatible, which is something I wanted to have for xc races where it would be advantageous.

Rocky Mountain's New Pipeline - First Look
Santa cruz hightower- pivot 229 trail- Ibis mojo 3- Scott Genius plus- stumpjumper 6fattie- salsa bucksaw......... I off hand rejected the concept until I demo'd the hightower 27.5+ and had a blast. Hightower enroute! I've waited out the storm of new standards since my 2012 Blur LTC and other than 12 speed I think I've got enough under the belt with this move.
