Pretty tame compared to what's at rampage but I loved watching that! those lines look so much fun, (in comparison to rampage where lines look like death sentences)

Video: Race Highlights - DH World Championships Vallnord 2015
I think carbon was faster in downhill when components were heavier such as coil forks, heavy wheels etc but now these components are that much lighter we don't need such a light frame. I don't believe there is an optimum weight for a downhill bike but I do think a downhill bike can be too light. Then it is far cheaper to produce an aluminium frame and far easier to change the numbers slightly to suit riders preferences and changes in track meaning the rider can be 100% happy they have the right head angle, chainstay length etc without spending a fortune on a new cast for a carbon frame.

Let me put 10% faster into perspective. Aaron Gwin won Val di Sole in 2012 by nearly 8 seconds, if he went 10% faster, he would have won by 27 seconds...
