Today at 12:00 hrs Chilean time (-3 GMT) there will be the opening of the applications for the 2015 version of the Andes Pacifico.

This year we will have new trails and new regions of Chile to reach the Pacific Ocean.

As last year, riders need to tell us their experience as Montenbaiker on an application, but, if you were able to do it last year, you won't have any problem to be approved.

that registration fee is a joke, what does it cost to live in chile for a year? $100USD? haha, but seriously thats a joke of a fee.

Yes, it is expensive. But looking at their website you see that price includes everything you need for four days. Shuttling, housing food, mechanics, medical assistance and so on...all you have to do is ride your bike.

390 usd per day is not so much expensive considering that include everything, who can pay the airfare to here also can pay the registration

mtbswindler , I don't know if you have seen the photos and videos of the inaugural Andes Pacifico, but the organization had an impressive setup with an Sky resort as the starting point, very nice tent camps with great services, several choppers, motorcycle patrolling etc. A lot of the europeans said it was a world class level and beyond. In fact, it is organized by the same guys that did the Chilean World Enduro Series race. Also, keep in mind that Chile is an expensive country with standards of a developed economy, in fact it has lower crime and poverty levels than the US.

Thanks @jftoha for showing some education and research about the race and our country. Very often Americans and Europeans think that here in Chile we still ride horses on the streets and live in shanties. Its very offensive that @mtbswindler said that the cost of living in Chile per year was a 100USD. Who do you think we are? Rwanda? Go and read a god damm book for christ sake. Andes Pacifico is a relatively new race, but in a few years it will become the "Dakar" of World Enduro Races.
