The Mountain Bike Tourism Association (MBTA) needs your help. We are interested in learning more about mountain biking-related travel. If you travel to ride and are 18 years or older, we want to hear from you!
Everyone who completes the survey will have a chance to win a cash prize of $500 (Canadian) cash to spend on whatever you want! The survey is open until September 10, 2014.
I would show up to the airport in a limo with two models accompanying me to check-in. VIP services in the airport give me special treatment, skipping the security line. Having first class on the plane shouldn't even be a question. Once again, the limo picks me up with more models once I arrive in Vancouver. I am escorted to the presidential suite of the finest hotel. Soon I will socialize with the finest royalty from around the world. I will show them my GoPro edits and brag, while also explaining that the jumps look smaller in the wide-angle lens (lets be real, most of our footage isn't THAT cool. But you can't help but think it is anyway). The next day a Redbull heli pilot will pick me up along with my free prototype Yeti SB7C with Switch Infinty² tech. Richie Rude, Gared Graves, and Cedric Garcia, will each accompany me for one day, but not show me up. A few locals ride with me along with my friends from home. The locals show their favorite secret trails and breweries. We all taste a generous amount of beer each night. One of the last days Brandon, Cam, and Ryan Howard will shred some trails with me. But in the end, i's all about exploring local towns and trails, not about the life of generous luxury. So me and my riding buddies from home will meet locals and ride like they ride. We will experience culture from our cousins up north.
Good luck with this! A dream MTB road trip for me would include salmon fishing. Also if Smithers ever build a lift access mountain bike resort I would move there stat!
Great initiative! As someone that travels between PG, BL, Smithers and Terrace often to ride, it's easy to see the potential of the area. More tourism potential/power often translates into more funding for trails and infrastructure!
Interesting survey, glad to take it and help out. Though, I think some of those questions/answers are quite vague and won't provide any real definitive information at the end of it..
AK Ferry is pretty slow and wow is it ever a bumpy ride. I'd think you want to drive through Whitehorse/Carcross which also has insane riding. Then spend a week doing Terrace, Smithers, Burns Lake etc
