The track here at Mammoth is dusty, dry, and you're rolling on marbles the entire time. Touch the brakes and you go flying. Gwinny qualified first, but we all know he doesn't have brakes on his bike anyway. Logan Binggeli was 2nd with Luca Shaw right on his heels. Mikey Sylvestri felt right at home here at Mammoth, taking down the 4th spot. Charlie Harrison took down the Jr Ex 1st spot with Bruce Klein and Andras Simon 3 seconds back. Warren Kniss slid in the 4th spot, and then went on to win Dual Slalom for the Juniors. Jill Kintner took down the 1st spot for women's qualifying, and also won slalom tonight.
Here is a course preview as ridden by Andras Simon of the Incycle JR team:
The track is a little different from previous years, with some rocks pulled and jumps added to make times faster. The speeds some racers carry is quite terrifying and with everyone turning up the speeds that tiny bit, there is plenty of carnage.
Stay tuned for a finals video!
