A crazy duel course was made out nothing more then what was the paddock & start finish straight at Goodwood motor racing circuit.

The duel started on top of start/finish straight viewing gallery that sent riders down two sets of steep steel steps

across a gravel path and deep down under the race circuit via a set of nearly vert stone steps which you had to duck not to hit your helmet on the roof.

A sprint through the tunnel to get enough speed to pop up out the other side before a very tight right turn and sprint for last gap jump onto the finish line.

The heats were fast and furious until Jimmy and Christian both broke there bikes in the same heat!
Christian snapped his crank arm off and Jimmy snapped his chain.
So it was DMR bikes to the rescue and a Blot was rolled out for the riders to use for the race.

It was Christian Fairclough that made the final against Ben Baker, it was one run no crap race riders set off from the top platform to drop down the steps it was Ben that got the snap and Christian on the borrowed bike slid out on the gravel at the bottom of the steps and it was a sprint under the tunnel to make the last corner but Baker had pulled just enough to get in front to jump into the finish and take the £750 prize money.

The Circuit was used for top flight motor racing racing after the war and all the great drivers of pre 1960's have raced here and now Ben Baker wins DMR Bikes Duel race at Goodwood motor racing circuit.

I went to this event hoping for something good. There was no one there and they lumped everyone in with a load of Brompton riders. You really didn't miss anything at all the photos make it look better than it was. Stick to the events run for the love it not for profit like this one. Keep it real brudders
