Video: Chris Akrigg - Five
So creative. So fun. Such awesome talent and skill on a bike. His edits are always my favourites, and this has just upped the ante. Nice work Chris!

He definitely proved himself this year, both in terms of skill and attitude. Someone to look up to for sure. Keep it real bud.

Sequence Saturday 40
Sounds interesting snowsnow. One interpretation of the data might be that there's more upper body injuries because so many people wear leg armour/knee pads. What do you think? I don't know anything about the study you mention, but I do work with statistics quite a bit in my job. You don't really mention enough in your post do draw any conclusion really, but I think your point seems likely also, and compatible with mine. So if most people wear leg armour/knee pads, and most injuries are upper body, a) the leg armour may well be serving its purpose which suggests b) upper body armour should be used more often to reduce upper body injuries. Personally I wear body armour mostly, but one of the few times I didn't last year I went OTB and took the nub of a broken branch on a fallen tree right to the centre of my chest and busted my sternum. Looked like an alien was poppin outta me, it was pretty funny. Fortunately the tree was old and the nub was blunt, otherwise I'd almost certainly have opened myself up and been in big trouble. Needless to say, I wear body armour for anything significant now...

The Five Gnarliest Crashes at Red Bull Rampage
Bender's crash was totally nuts. Cam McCaul's crash from 2003 was wilder than the 2008 crash. Both were big though.

Atherton Racing: Four by Three - Episode 1, Rachel
Awesome concept, awesome execution! I think this just brought the world cup team film to a new level. Rachel is a great ambassador for mountain biking in general, not just for the women. A fantastic representation of the down-to-earth attitude that is prevalent across pretty much every aspect of mountain biking. Keep it up Rach and good luck in Hafjell.

Strength in Numbers: The Anthill Interview
Roam for me too, although I definitely like them all. Am I alone in noticing a bit more of a commercial feel to SIN? I don't think it's too over the top, but it took the charm out of it a bit for me. I can see that anthill needs to pay the bills though, and I guess the new distribution focus on free web streaming may necessitate that. For me, I will always buy a good film on what ever format is the standard of the time.
