The older I get, I really don't slow down, I just wear more padding.

WAKi-bikes of the Future: Y-ME Schmetterling
Peddles bolted to the frame would never work - still need to rotate them up or down for cornering and shifting your weight. Also can add Marcelo winning Whistler Garbonzo DH with the chain off.

Sam Hill to Skip Andorra World Cup, Focus on Enduro Instead
Sam had a great come back year in 2014 - two WC wins and then that big crash on his gold Nuke Proof bike. Healing the mind to get back on top is the toughest thing. He may be pissed he wasn't selected for Worlds, but you have to put up the guys who have results - Also, he's getting up in age, and maybe knows his days are numbered if not upon him already. It's tough to stay at the top of the DH world. Maybe he's a bit burnt on the DH scene - this change could light a fire in him again. That would be great to see. All the best to you Sam. You gave everyone plenty of thrills - keep them coming in the EWS

Rocky Mountain's 2017 Slayer - First Ride
No doubt Enduro bikes are inching upwards and doing so with more versatility and agility. But the real killer of the DH bike in my opinion and experience is the Bike Parks/Ski Resorts. The vast majority of trails being made are easier and better suited to the Enduro - more pedal/less technical. They're killing too many trails with dirt paving. Outside a few runs here and there, it's getting tougher and tougher to justify owning a DH bike over an Enduro.

Crankworx 2016 Garbanzo Downhill in Photos
If you've ever raced a buddy chainless (or no peddling) down any hill/course it's a totally different mindset. All you think is don't hit the brakes and conserve your momentum - you go fast, very fast, because you don't have the peddle strokes to make up for any mistakes, so you make less. It's not easy - it's damn scary if you haven't the balls to hold that speed. Imagine if you could always get in that mindset AND still have a chain for those dead spots - you'd be unstoppable. These WC guys are amazing.

@mtbmaniatv: That's too bad - it kind of kills the finale for the finish.

Windham, NY Pro GRT Round 5 Practice - Video
How's the bottom? After you exit the woods - last I rode, they took out the doubles and the drop off the conex box to the jumps near the finish. That upper section before the road gap is pure brutality. For the non technically ballsy riders, the bike park should tie into the lower section after the gap for the weekend warrior park riders.

One Last Dance: XC Finals - Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup 2016
The track looked respectable - certainly more tech than a usual XC course - can only hope it keeps getting more technical.
