Having just signed for another year aboard Saracen, I asked Nick if he wanted to shoot a short edit on my new Saracen Myst, he jumped at the opportunity. We decided to head to Black Cannon Collective at Longleat, I had heard good things from local shredder Chris Smith, and as its only 40 minutes up the road from Nick, it was a no brainer where to film this sweet little edit!
Riding for Saracen Bikes comes with great privileges. I had the opportunity to get one of the new 2014 Saracen Myst Pro DH rigs, and put my own touch to it.
Having been sponsored by Fox suspension (Mojo) and working with the guys at Mojo suspension for years, getting a set of Fox 36 float 180mm forks, tuned to what I wanted was a dream, plus a CTD Fox shock to replace the coil shock too.
This was a great step to making this beast into something special. The next step was to change the wheel set to the light and strong Halo wheels. Matching the awesome Halo Chaos rims onto a Halo spin doctor front and the Downhill specific Halo Supadrive hub on the rear, which sounds amazing!
There was one more thing that I wanted to change and that was the cranks, changing from the standard cranks to the new Shimano Saints in 170mm.
The build is absolutely perfect for ripping Downhill in the UK, super fun and flickable as well! Cant wait to take it out to Whistler in the summer and give it a proper test down some of the best tracks in the world!
