Norco Bicycles is thrilled to sign on as the official bicycle sponsor of the Norco World Enduro Team. The signing of this team strengthens Norco's commitment to the growing Enduro race market and illustrates an increased investment in the 27.5"/650B Range and Sight models.

The Norco World Enduro Team is based out of Switzerland and team leaders Lukas Anrig and Ludo May are joined by Lorraine Truong and Michael Schärer to complete the stacked roster. Bringing to the table top results nationally and internationally, these four riders will travel the world circuit proving the capability and potential of the new line of Norco 27.5" wheeled Killer B bikes. This team is a partnership that runs much deeper than a traditional rider-sponsor relationship. Working directly with these riders will serve as a valuable feedback and product development channel for the continuous development of the Range and Sight bikes. This relationship model is based on the Dirt Norco Team and what has been done with them and the Aurum DH Race bike.

Peter Stace-Smith, Norco's PR-Marketing Manager, states "we are super excited to be creating the Norco World Enduro Team for 2013 and beyond. Our Sight and Range Killer B models are the perfect tool for the team and we are excited to see our all-mountain bikes being proved on the international stage."

Norco's long history of sponsoring and supporting competitive cyclists reaches back to 1980, when the bicycle brand developed its first competition-level cycling team. Since then, Norco has invested consistently in its sponsorship program, supporting the development of talented athletes competing in a wide range of disciplines: Road, Cyclocross, Cross-Country, Downhill, Enduro, BMX and Slopestyle. Norco's sponsored riders not only serve as brand ambassadors, they also provide invaluable product feedback that enables Norco's bike design team to refine designs and create some of the best bicycles on the market.

The Norco World Enduro Team will be racing Norco Range Killer B and Sight Killer B bikes. The new 27.5" wheeled bikes are designed to compete in the diverse and challenging conditions found in these races. Bike choice is crucial in Enduro racing and the combination of pedaling efficiency and suspension performance makes these bikes the perfect tool to propel the Norco World Enduro Team to the top of the podium.

Norco has the sickest line of bikes on the market right now (Spec's Enduro/Stumpy are equaly as awesome) and I can imagine that the Range Killer B will make for one AWESOME race bike. Way to step it up Norco, I've always loved the company and Im glad to see them get some more spotlight.

 Too bad their frames break

Let it go. Lots of manufacturers had problems with DH bikes 10+ years ago when they were figuring it all out. Before full R&D labs, stress testing, 3D modeling, advanced aluminum manufacturing techniques, etc...
How about you judge them on the stuff they're putting out now - which is on par with the best in the world.

 Norco makes decent bikes, sure

But I feel like there isn't a lot to separate Norco from the rest of other brands.
I mean what is one feature that stands out in Norco that the rest of the bike industry is not doing?

And even though Norco does not have the brand recognition like Specialized, Trek, Scott, etc, Norco's pricing are pretty high.

Norco has been a huge factor in the progression of Canadian mtn biking, for generations.

They traditionally offer bombproof entry-level bikes for those getting into the sport. (e.g. Sasquatch)

They have a track record of making bikes that reflect the latest demands and direction of the sport (e.g. Shore circa 2001)

Their brand rarely gets the attention or buzz it deserves in the media, at least here Canada, as many people may consider them a household name and are attracted to the more boutique, exotic brands. So lately I have been stoked to see the Aurum getting some critical acclaim, and will be pretty excited to see the Range on podiums around the world.

I am sad to see them drop the 26" Range for 2013 though.

Norco is one of the (what, like two?) manufacturers still producing a 7" travel freeride bike. I love the new enduro trend, but these bikes will not stand up to laps from a chairlift.

What bike company is truly "Different"??? Norco's curent line up is, IMO, one of the best WHOLE BIKE LINE-UP in the industry (Transition and Specialized are the other two in my mind in terms of N.American Companies). Their prices are high in some ways but they have a pretty great spread of build kits to get the prices lower on any given model AND their frames are as well built and designed as ANYTHIGN in the industry. YT industries is another killer Line-Up but we don't see them here in N. America. While everyone else is moving awy from FR Bikes and jsut making "Enduro bikes" (Treck killing off the Slash is a good example) Norco has stuck to their NW roots and made a true "Full lne up". Norco helped birth Freeriding and the whole "Shore" style and they're still at the head of the pack some 15+ years later.

Hey lets not forget Kona! they have the entourage! great bike! and they have a solid line up from full dh to full XC! but I do like the Norco line up! they are just hard to come by where I live
  • 2 0
Kona's Entourage is a reay ineresting bike to me cause of the short rear-end and it's suposedly very "playfull" fr a 7" bike.
  • 2 0
Oh man. So many brand dropping 7"... And people don't realize that beside racing DH you don't need 8". 7" bikes are way more fun and can take the beating. SAD
  • 2 0
Agreed... 7" bikes are very much "relevant" but they're not really seeing much love in the industry anymore aye... lame.

Excellent way of marketing the new wheel size.

my norco manik hardtail could do 6foot drops into a flat carpark..... so if thay have improved since then they are making amazing bikes now
