Deep Summer 2016 Wildcard Contest - Last Day to Vote

The judges have deliberated, sweated and digressed over the many and varied entries received to bring you the Top 5 Wildcard Photographer entries for 2016. Now it's your turn to vote and determine who will compete in The Deep Summer Photo Challenge at Crankworx, Whistler.

The Samsung Deep Summer Photo Challenge sees five top pro photographers competing for cash and for the title of Samsung Deep Summer Photo Challenge Champion. This year’s lineup of photographers showcases a deeply talented crew, each with their own unique twist on telling the story of mountain biking.

Deep Summer 2016

The 5 confirmed pro photographers for this year’s event are: Tommy Wilkinson, Simeon Patience, Baxter Redfern, Ashley Barker and Ben Haggar.

The photographers will rally their chosen athlete teams to embark on three days of intense shooting and editing commencing Saturday, August 13. Slideshows will be handed in by the end of the day Tuesday, August 16. Then, on Wednesday, August 17, the massive crowd at Whistler Olympic Plaza will experience deep summer in Whistler through the lenses of six elite mountain bike photographers.

 Adison Macdonald does really amazing things compositionally. The rest of the pictures are nice, but Macdonald uses really unique perspective. Love it.

 Yes, their photos are good, without question. PB has had a habit of hyping these as "anyone can win" in the past though. On occasion someone wins who we've never heard of...then we find out they are actually a pro or semi-pro photographer from another industry or sport.

A contest among pros is great, let's just be clear about what it is.

 They are photographers. The Deep Summer Photo Challenge gives six photographers just 72 Hours (13-16th August) to capture and create the best 3-5 minute slideshow they can. Photographers choose a team of riders that join them in Whistler on these dates. All six final slideshows are shown at the Olympic Plaza on 17th August in Whistler (that's Crankworx time).
You viewers get to select the sixth photographer (the Wildcard) to join in this year's competition. Vote wisely.
