In recent years, the Moab mountain biking community has worked tirelessly building epic singletrack trails and growing its reputation as a mountain bike Mecca. Moab Rocks will work in partnership with the Moab Trails Alliance, Moab Trail Mix, and under permit from the Bureau of Land Management and the Manti-La Sal National Forest.

TransRockies Events pioneered Mountain Bike Stage Racing in North America with the TransRockies Challenge in 2002, and the 3-day race format with the TR3 starting in 2009. Poison Spider Bicycles has brought its expertise in Moab's mountain bike trails and community to Moab Rocks.

Just a heads up, they organized the Fernie enduro and it wasn't trouble free:
-dual XC and enduro format leads to some conflicts. Enduro guys want to have a clean run and are willing to wait at the top, XC guys will keep going and might not want to get out of the way!
-Chip only timing is not super reliable when not backed up with a stopwatch. They had to drop one of the 4 stages because they couldn't get times for it. As well, many racer's runs were not timed.
-Bits of flagging tape on trees is not an acceptable way to mark a course, especially with no course marshalls, and no timers.

This is NOT an enduro race. It is an XC stage race, where you can see how you rank on the descents. /rant

I've been looking for a good time to finally take up my mom's friend's offer for a bike mechanic job out in Moab for a few weeks, now I've found it...see you in September & October Moab!

Rode Moab in May 2013 and it was amazing. Captain Ahab was incredible and the whole Enchilada was amazing.

I really hope that twangy bluegrass music does not become the official background music for all things Enduro.

More than twice the price of BME races, and this is not even a series?

I hate to be a sh!thead but.... There is already a BME, NAET event in Moab in October. The BME/NAET event actually will give points towards both series, is the finale event for the NAET, and will feature the best true enduro riders in North America.

Why pay 3x the cost, for the privilege to race the trails mixed in with spandy bandits who can't navigate a 6" drop on their hard tails? Really, what could me more frustrating than racing "enduro" stages mixed in and stuck behind a slew of highly untechnical riders? I just don't see this appealing to anyone who normally races enduro events ( read series ).

yeah. Judging by what happened in Fernie, if you go into this expecting an enduro, you will be disappointed. It's an XC with timed descents and until they can fix their issues, it should be marketed as such.

Is that standard for a refund policy? They cancel the even completely and we loose $450 bucks? What about some kind of a transfer to another event within 1 year of the original? That's kind of got me scared to commit.

[Edit] And I REALLY want to commit!

Well, if you like big rides it might be worth it, kind of a stretch to call it an Enduro. The massive transition stages to the timed segments are going to put the enduro riders so far off the back that there won't be much traffic. But yeah, that's no cheap date at over $400.

 Man, those trails look great.

Whole Enchilada should be on every serious biker's bucket list.

especially since its a legal trail now, was still good as a poach ride back in the day

So glad that I go down 4 times a year!!!!! And now 5!

No way I'd pay that much for a race. You could do 2 BME's as mentioned above or even 2 national championships for that price.

 Cool, i will be there!
