Louis Reboul - Scott Voltage FR - Crankworx 2016
Louis runs a size medium Voltage FR with 26" wheels.

Scott have a large presence in the world of freeriding with a stacked team of heavy hitters. But of all the riders on their roster, most of whom opt for their bigger and burlier Gambler, Frenchman, Louis Reboul prefers the shorter travel Voltage FR. With a background in dirt jumping and slopestyle, Louis prefers the more playful feel of the Voltage, especially with 26" wheels, which gives Louis' Voltage a ground-hugging 335mm BB height. Louis also runs his Voltage in the 190mm of travel configuration, with a 64-degree head angle and the rear set to the 'short' setting, dishing out some super-short 410mm chainstays.

bigquotesWe've given him Gamblers, but he likes the Voltage and Louis... well, he's nasty so he can have whatever he wants and he likes the Voltage. - Ben Walker, Scott Sports Progressive Bikes Manager

It was cool to see Louis running Truvativ's Stevie Smith signature bars.

The most de-rigueur grip on the freeride scene...

Louis Reboul - Scott Voltage FR - Crankworx 2016
Was this the wettest and muddiest Crankworx whip-off comp yet? A weight weenies nightmare...

bigquotesThe wheelbase is really short so it's really playful and it's got less than 200mm of travel too, which I like. I'm a slopestyle rider so I like it like that. With the Voltage, you can do what you want with it - I can do tricks, go to the bike park, it's like the perfect freeride bike for me. - Louis Reboul

Louis Reboul - Scott Voltage FR - Crankworx 2016
As a SRAM/ RockShox athlete, Louis runs a Vivid Air shock delivering 190mm of travel and BoXXer World Cup forks.

bigquotesThe Voltage runs a 20% progression rate and actually behaves more progressively than the Gambler - it's linear with respect to its line, but it's not a flat rate. The Voltage has a rising rate making it more consistent and predictable. - Ben Walker

Chromag's Overture saddle is arguably the most popular perch for dirt jumping, freeriding and general airborne radness.

Michelin's new DH tyres are coming, but as you can see, it was pretty hard to make an analysis based on the tread pattern here in Les Gets.

 @lawnweenies1: If you're on a 29er then you can't even ride without training wheels.

 @Cheeky-Greeky: damn right son. 26 may be dead but training wheels will live forever!

 @Cheeky-Greeky: He's 18; he probably had training wheels on a 650b.
  • 4 0
 @scottzg: Probably all of the riders at the whip off needed training wheels because they're a bit tipsy.

 @Cheeky-Greeky: Why so much salt dude? Anyone can ride whatever they want, and for anything apart from full on DH and tight enduro trails 29er's are faster than the rest. And no I don't own one.
  • 7 3
 @lawnweenies1 no, youre f*cking terrible.

 @lawnweenies1: wtf lawnweenies. Saying 26 is dead is like saying that kid didn't fall into a gorrilla enclos--------- wait

 for people like them, 26 is a more logical choice that's all. They spend most of there time on 26 inch dj bikes and when they're on a freeride, they try to spend most time in the air so 26 is better. That's my point of view on things

 20mm thru axel? Never heard of it before.

 @lawnweenies1: f*ck every single one of you arguing about wheels size. Who actually genuinely cares?

 Interesting to see how many little tweaks and mods the DH guys run, whereas this bike seems to be all off the shelf, run of the mill parts. Also, does he run tubes? Any ideas on tyre pressures or shock/fork settings?
  • 3 0
 Ok who is doing the proofreading???? It's not like a bunch mountain bikers are getting paid to run this company.

 fanboy-mode> Does anyone of you guys know where I can get my hands on that shirt he's wearing? Been looking for it for ages now! /fanboy-mode>
