The 2014 NW Cup is about to get underway with some new twists, and old favorites. The first race is also the opening round of the Pro GRT again this year, bringing in some talent from far away. This year we are also collaborating with the BC Cup for a couple of races. It should be a good excuse for racers to check out new terrain and maybe have a bit of a cross border rivalry, civil of course.

Gravity Components has stepped it up to be the Series Title Sponsor this year. We're very pleased to not only continue, but expand our partnership, and you should be too. A big thank you to all the companies that support the NW Cup and make it what it has become. Please keep them in mind when you're pimping out your steed this year.

Preride videos will be brought to you by Monster Energy and Reel Cameras. Reel just sent us a camera for shooting the trails and we are very impressed. Definitely looking forward to getting on the trails with it.

The Claw switched gears and tried racing last year, will he be back?

Will Stevie come back and start his year off right?

Trevor Parson is a up and coming young gun who place 8th in a stacked Pro field. His first season racing Pro the kid has a bright future as do so many others in this time.
Freehub rider Trevor Parson took the Pro Overall, last year. Will he repeat?

We've heard your voices and we will be putting a big focus on unique tracks for every round. This will be a best 5 out of 6 series and you MUST be at the finals to qualify for an overall title.

Oh man! Stoked for everything about this!! Going to a great summer for DH as only the strongest events and the best organizers are still standing after the Enduro onslaught of events for 2014.

I cannot WAIT for the ProGRT there! Hell to the yes!

PS: if anyone is going to Sea Slaughter and wants to road trip/carpool, I'm driving to PA right afterwards. It is a one-way trip, however, as I'll be flying out from SEA-TAC.

Hard for Stevie to return to the NW Cup while him and the other top tier pros will all be in Africa right?

It's possible for him to be at the race but I'd say it's doubtful. That's alright just gives someone else a chance to win this year!

You are certainly right, I should have clarified... Sea Donkey being so close to Africa is the issue.

Sea Otter is the 10-13. In the past having a race in PA the week after has drawn some bigs names. It'll be interesting to see who comes and who sits out this year with both South Africa and Cairns so close to one another plus Sea Otter and PA (Underworld Cup) sandwiched in between the world cups.

 That's what I'm thinking.

I would just say set it up as well as you can for DH and go for it. Dry hill is do-able on a hardtail, you just may not go as fast, but it's fun to try!
  • 1 0
Heck yes it would be fun...that's what it's all about!

Which of these tracks would be most worth the trip?
