At long last, the schedule for the 2015 NW Cup is set. This year will bring seven races at four different venues, a new stop at Silver Mountain Bike Park in Kellogg, ID, and expect the "Underworld Cup" to be back to full force in April,

The first two stops will be at Dry Hill, in Port Angeles, WA. The first race will also be the opening round of the USA Cycling ProGRT and will offer UCI points for the first time ever. With the World Cup schedule cooperating, the Pro GRT, and coming on the heels of the Sea Otter Classic, we expect a nice contingent of World Cup regulars. It's always sweet to get to ride with the people we'll be watching on Redbull TV the rest of the year.

Next it's off to Skibowl, Mt. Hood for the classic tracks that test man(woman) and machine. As you'll recall from last year, the trail crew was busy in the off season and the coming year will likely be no exception.

Then we'll alternate with Stevens Pass Bike Park and Silver Mountain Bike Park for the final three stops, with the finals being back at Stevens Pass.

All the venues in the series are working hard to make fresh tracks, and spruce up the classics. We look forward to seeing everyone next year. Without further ado.....

Very excited about this years schedule. Bummed that one of the races isn't merged with the BC cup, I really enjoyed getting to race somewhere new. At least silver mtn will be something different. And 2x Mt. Hood? Please and Thank you.

Silver should be pretty exciting especially with there 5 year expansion going on. They already made great progress this year as far as adding new trails and cultivating new features onto older ones as well.

My bro and I missed the ferry going to the cascadia dirt cup this past summer in port angeles. We were in the car for 5 1/2 hours (normally 3 hours). We Got to the location only had time to practice stage 1&2. We drove down the street to a camp site and I slept in the back of my car with my oatmeal cream pies. Woke up and raced the next day and I had blast the trails were sick and the race was well organized Smile its nice out there in PA. The NW cup and Cascadia dirt cup are dialed in right now Smile

 This. Brutal/awesome.

Skibowl has been the only course to scare me riding at race pace. But holy shit is it fun. time to stock up on tubes, tires and rims.

I don't know what everybody's problem is up there I always ran 25-28psi and have only ever flatted once... I was on the Pro/cat-1 course too. Ok so I kinda broke my wrist there in 07 as well...

Those that haven't ridden Silver Mtn in the last couple years will love it. Once you guys give it a chance it's going to be one of your favorite parks.

Silver Mountain has come along way I enjoy it immensely!

Yeah I rode it years ago like probably 2009/10. Its just a long drive from bellingham

Its well worth it now. Its really really good now. I rode it in 2009 and thought it was stupid but from what ive seen and heard its going off! And only getting better. Opening a lift so you dont have to do gondola laps will help lots.

And Port Angeles isn't a long drive???? Its 13 hours for me and 4.5 to Silver. Lol
  • 1 0
Yeah I will have to agree with Ida its at least a 8 hour drive for me to PA as well. Thats a long drive for a a one day race.
  • 1 0
Yeah the closest venue for me is skibowl and it's still almost 5 hours away.

Go check out their facebook page or look at the race reports here on Pinkbike. Silver Mt. is kicking ass! They have real downhill trails now, better jumps, and are making a ton of progress. Unlike PA, Steven's Pass, and many other places, there are great bars, restaurants opened late, and grocery stores right at the bottom of the mountain. Once you have setup camp, you don't have to touch your car the rest of the weekend; You can just ride your bike to the bottom of the mountain, straight to the bar and have yourself some drinks and food!

@antron you got that right buddy!

Just the whole riding across town between laps sucked. And jello isn't that nice of a town. I used to go ride and race silver all the time. It looks like Kent has been busy over there finally making some trails worth riding. Just not worth a 12 hour drive for a race weekend. Especially when I get up at 4:30 am for work lol

Yeah I too have to get up early to go to work as well so I can relate to you MTBguy. If you enjoy racing you will make it to the races you can. I have never been able to complete an entire NW cup before but I wish that I could.

I usually skip mt hood cuz of the drive. Being an adult sucks

Looking forward to a great season! Thanks for the hard work everybody!

Hope to race in the next few years
