Cat 2&3 trail seems a little....blehhh. Understand its not a pro class but its like a race through a park..

Till you see how blown out it is. I have been avoiding this run for 2 weeks now cause of the massive amount of wear this trail see's. Also he is barely moving the jump at 19 seconds he should be landing on the pavers not in front of them.

Very true, im sure a few other guys will keep it pinned and have some fun on it. It does look like they were all fighting for grip in the corners.

The faster you go the harder it is...plus the conditions make it that much rougher..raced it last weekend and its a blast!

It's actually a really fun trail! I haven't ridden it since last year but if you go fast it's a great time.

Personally I was hoping for something a little more technical. I'm sure this trail will be fun to rip a couple times, but in my opinion trails with more than one line make better race courses. With multiple lines, you actually have to learn the course and the best way to get down. The learning and experimenting is fun! Bring back the tech please, Slingshot Wookie was a blast!

I appreciate everyone's input very much. As a new venue (that I've never been to and can hardly wait) it's tough to pick courses for everyone. Once we all spend some time there we may well agree that this is the best option, or find another for next time. Also, (this part's our problem) there are tons of other logistics to figure out for a first time venue. One biggie that affects the most important part of the weekend...timing...., is starts and finishes. At Port Angeles and Mt. Hood, that works pretty well because all the trails start and finish at the same spot. Others, it's tough. With that, shorter tracks require absolute precision so moving the equipment and setting it up multiple times a day is not ideal. As it is, we will be moving everything twice.

Bottom line is that it's going to be a blast and I understand this trail is super fun, and racing is going to be TIGHT! After the weekend we will gladly accept any feedback you have. In the meantime, thanks for supporting the NW Cup everyone!

Ods Thanks so much for making these events happen, I know it's a lot of work to organize and run. It'll be a fun weekend, and I'm looking forward to checking out a new park. See you in Idaho!

I was just there the corners are all blown out it is super technical right now and extremely dusty. We still had fun it is a huge mountain

I am going there to race cat 2. Should I be riding my all mountain bike? Trail looks easy and lots of pedaling.

For the Cat2/3 race track an AM/TR would be ideal, however if you want to rally the miles of trails other than the Cat2/3 track, a FR/DH bike is needed to hold up to the abuse.

DH bikes are not "needed" preferred maybe but not needed. I ride there twice a week and you'll see almost as many AM bikes as DH/ FR. That being said the video of Jackass looks nothing like the trail I rode Monday.... Talk about blown out, and dusty doesn't really describe the 3 - 4 inches of loose dirt in all the turns.

Cat 2 on Hammer would have been nice. All in all SilverMt has trails for everyone, so go check it out sometime. silvermt.com

Also, Hot Mess could easily handle the pro class. Silver has so many great trails that every cat could have their own race trail in the chair 3 zone. I think there are another 2 or three blue/green trails up top as well. Lots of time can be spent in the chair 3 zone. The skills park has a little to be desired... If you enjoy resort riding, you need to make a weekend out of it. 1 day will NOT do it. Too many miles of trail.
