I thought i'd look at the comments and see everyone having a go for it not being rough enough. Those trails look FKN AMAZING!!! Bit of a trip for me though.... For me this is what Enduro is all about, fun trails with a good atmosphere.
Killer vid, killer track, killer riding. Very effective marketing for both Ashland and Santa Cruz. Now I want to ride there, and that Nomad looks like a sick trail bike.
konabrother1 thanks for the information, that is what I mean, is a FR track showing an Enduro race, some people could give a try to Enduro but can be intimidated seeing this king of track and jumps, nothing against these Series of Enduro, I like this kind of riding also and I has been doing DH, so I know what I am speaking..nothing bad against these Series... Peace and lets keep pushing this kind of riding all around the globe.
Enduro should have jumps, he's not even wearing a full face, if you want beginners, then go XC and progress, learn to ride, you don't move mtns on ski fields because of muppets, don't and stop dumbing down our sport, its as bad as removing features on a trail you find to hard to ride, or creating and alternative line and destroying the trail, Enduro,is not that, Enduros are supposed to be tough, technically. Besides Im sure they're are bypases, the weak should be punished and the strong be rewarded for the risks, dam PC problem is spreading to mtb everywhere, so sick of it!
maverick you are an idiot. yeah, I reduced myself to name calling. A race is a race. The riders will be timed on a course, and they are going to call it enduro, get over it. Enduro is just a trendy term, its a stage race. Ashland is a great place to ride in a state that is full of good riding. We have laws in the US that prevent us from building trails in a lot of alpine areas and backcountry areas. So maybe it isnt the most technical course, so what? Come ride the Oregon enduro series, im thinking you probably dont do too well.
Weeeeell..... Is this "Enduro" or Downhill?.. because if these jumps and gaps will be in the racetrack looks like the organizers need some guidance about track selection if they want to get close to the Enduro World Series. Just a critic for people that doesn't like jumps avoid get involved in Enduro racing as a nice option. Cheers and keep going good!
Jumping skills are a part of mountain biking, especially the gravity side of riding. Enduro is a gravity discipline, so being able to jump is part of the equation. Nathan wasn't hitting those jumps on a DH bike, and they're not too big for a 5-6" trail bike. The 1st jump is a mellow double, the 2nd jump is a sender with a wide open landing. No problem.
I dont know what the rules are for enduro world series but if a rider doesnt want to do the jumps im sure theres a easy way around, but it will cost him extra seconds.
I still think to separate Enduro from DH is to race it blind, meaning no practice, or not have time to check out the course.
Of course the locals would have an advantage.
I am racing the Ashland enduro this weekend and it's on none of the trails in this video. Kinda stupid how they didnt show the trails for the enduro race, and put all the freeride trails in the vid. The the real course is somewhat pedaly, and not very jumpy, Just very fast and flowy.. and dry...
Oregon can't win... One minute doods are crying, saying the course looks like an XC trail, the next they're crying cause it has jumps in it.
Get over it! Sorry we're not perfect like your little Euro enduro wonderland...
