Mt. Hood, Oregon - Oregon Enduro Series and North American Enduro Tour Finals

Top North American Enduro athletes converged to compete in some of the most stunning, Pacific Northwest venues and were rewarded with perfect trail conditions. Bell Helmets' release of their new Super 2R all-mountain helmet added to create an unforgettable season finale for Oregon Enduro Series & North American Enduro Tour.

Finals Race
The final race of the season was broken into 5 stages across 3 venues. Sandy Ridge, the prized BLM mountain bike trail system sits just minutes from the base of Mt. Hood. Known for its rock gardens, roots and flow trails, Sandy hosted the first three stages of racing. By the end of Day 1, only a few seconds separated the top pros while a few flat tires separated the pack.

Sunday, Day 2 of racing, started at the historic Timberline Lodge and traveled down to Government Camp. After racing down Mt. Hood proper in Stage 4, competitors headed for their fifth and final stage hosted by Mt. Hood Skibowl. Mt. Hood Skibowl leads the way in lift-assisted mountain biking in Oregon, having hosted the 1990 NORBA National Series Finals, the 2000 NBC-televised Gorge Games and the NW Cup Race Series since 1989. Known as one of the most technical venues and a true downhill event, riders raced 1,500 feet down to the base area of Skibowl West, closing the books on an exciting Enduro season in the Pacific Northwest and across all of North America.

Season Overalls
Multiple titles for Oregon Enduro & North American Enduro were decided by this final race event.

Congrats to Alex McGuinnis for earning the Oregon Enduro Overall! Kirt Voreis, a mere 8 points behind Alex in the final standings, nearly captured the Oregon title but was unable to race in this fifth and final race due to a broken leg he suffered at Crankworx Whistler.

Kim Russell captured the Oregon Enduro Series' Overall Women's Title, competing in every stage of the entire series. Congratulations, Kim!

The North American Enduro Tour Overall Men's title remained up for grabs at the start of this race. Nate Hill & Kyle Warner battled all season with Kyle taking the win and securing his first title!

Heather Irmiger held off Margaret Gregory to secure the North American Enduro Tour Overall Women's Title by a slim 30-point margin -- the exact point difference in the final race! Well-deserved victory, Heather!

It was a great year for the Oregon Enduro Series. Stay tuned for exciting updates on new venues and courses for 2015 as the Oregon Series continues to hold some of the best enduro events in North America.

I surprised a shot of the rusty lift cable dangling riders and bikes 100 feet off the ground didn't make the shot. I love riding Ski Bowl, hate the slow ass death trap of a chair lift taking you to the top. Timberline, if you are reading this, get your ass together! Even Mt. Bachelor has lift assisted mountain biking.
