Welcome to Wershington. Word has it that some vermin chewed through the timing wire. Running test runs tonight, should be good tomorrow. Wonder if it was this guy?
Shuttle dog
First in, last out. Needles hucking to flat out of the shuttle rig.
Monk Dawg. This man is a legend - 26 years of wrenching on bikes. The names are legend: Kintner, Lopes, Gwin, just to name a few.
It's a short track and prime photo shooting spots are in high demand: Paris Gore and Matt Delorme establishing dominance in Port Angeles. Paris had a bigger flash and took the "W".
Richie Rude is hard on wheels. Shaun Hughes trying to milk another day of training out of them tired dogs...
Hmmm, no question as to what the line is in this section of track.
Top seed: Stevie Smith over the roots before firing into the woods.
Troy Brosnan
Gwin it to win it. That's the saying, but Stevie Smith ain't listening to that mantra when he's a short boat ride from home. It is NW dirt, after all.
Casey Brown in flight.
More local flavor here in Port Angeles... heckling here is an art form. "I may or may not have seen a helicopter or two on the track here last year" -Jill Kintner.
The man in black - Aaron Gwin. With a 12th in qualifying today he should have plenty left for tomorrow.
Local flavor at Dry Hill: Carhartts and flannel.
Still the best last name in racing: Nick Beer.
Bulldog staying low and fast.
Eye on the ball: Mitch Ropelato getting some NW goodness.
Connor Fearon puttin the 'Supreme' in the new Kona Operator.
Jared Graves
Grubby Graves getting dirty here in PA. Graves took a while to shed that 4X weight, but now that he's trimmed up... He's no NW local but he's feeling it.
Stevie Smith is pretty used to the terrain here in comparison to Vancouver Island. Roots, loam and rocks.
Jill Kintner launching her way into taking the first spot in the women's category. Hopefully her winning streak will continue...
Fastest man on track today. Stevie Smith ahead of the game by 2 seconds. With the rain coming in and course conditions changing, could Stevie take his second win in a row here?
Jill Kintner, back from Sea Otter on fire with her double wins. Nearly 8 second ahead and ready to take her third win in a week.
Pro Men
1. Stevie Smith 2. Josh Bryceland 3. Brook MacDonald 4. Connor Fearon 5. Neko Mulally
Pro Women
1. Jill Kintner 2. Miranda Miller 3. Casey Brown 4. Jaime Hill 5. Jaime Rees
everybody is tired of 650b and 29er articles and tests. leave it to cross country and trail dudes. here is the wild time, with lots of suspention travel and manly 26 wheels.
I'm not saying this out of favouritism or anything but Gwin suits the Specialized/Troy Lee kit more than the Trek/Royal one, I don't really like the Trek kit really, black kit and a black bike is so simple but effective
I was going to comment the exact opposite! No co-ordination or class in the logoing... just looks amateur. Mitch's Spesh kit is far nicer, more noticeable and ultimately cooler
I love Jill! She's so amazing. Kicked ass at BMX, 4x and slalom and is now so determined to make dh her b*tch. Can't wait to see what the world cup holds!
i like how paris oversaturates his photos. it is not this sunny looking in the northwest. yes we do get some sun but its never that bright in the woods.
The only last name better than Beer ( that's great ) would be Weed (imo) especially in Washington! It's finally legal! I'd move there tomorrow if I could, for the riding of course.
