  • 18 0

No no, Santa Cruz are making barrels now!
  • 8 4

  • 5 0
@EnduroCX that was his old one. He is on something new this year.
  • 6 3
That's an old blur 4x from like 04-05 era....used to weld those...
  • 2 0
 I'm responding to endurocx...
  • 10 0
Santa Cruz slopestyle bike with enve and rf for only 8999$..
  • 4 0
 @scotttherider - it's not a Blur 4X. It's a non-production slopestyle frame. Notice the tapered headtube and modular dropouts.
  • 2 3
it looks pretty similar to the santa blur 4x
  • 3 0
@k-rider92 - It's clearly built off of the design of the Blur 4X, but has new modern features added like a tapered headtube and 12x142 dropouts, and likely ISCG05 tabs.
  • 3 0
@seraph - i will admit i wouldnt mind giving her a ride tho, the Blur 4X was a pretty fun bike at the time
  • 1 1
Me thinks its something along the lines of a nomad slope... check out 2:10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDvgP6BOl6Q
  • 1 0
@mcgrewk - that's an old video when he was still riding a custom Blur TR. His slopestyle rig now is essentially an updated Blur 4X with a tapered headtube, 12x142 through axle, and ISCG05 tabs.
  • 2 2
I like how someone is going to come out and say "It's a Trek Ticket with Santa Cruz stickers on it" and he's +101....really?

@dubdryver - while Santa Cruz did make a prototype slope bike, he was not riding it at this competition.

dem treks are sexy ass bikes

Do I spy cable detanglers and calipers on Rheeder and Semenuk's bikes?!? Two cables visible from the lever to the detangler. 2to1 junction on the downtube. Maybe the death of hyrdo gyros and their leaking issues.
  • 3 0
they use mechanical brakes, cos the gyro seemed to feel more smoother, maintance free and lighter to spin if i remember right... they told that on last years events
  • 1 0
Nice! Makes sense as trying to find a rotational seal that holds fluid under hard braking seems impossible and the cable gyro was perfected many moons ago. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  • 2 0
anyone got any further details on the gyro setup they are running i understand how the top cable and lever works and that with a road calliper the pull is fine to work with bmx lever but how are they getting a long enough cable on the bottom under the gyro the standard bottom gyro cables are definitely not long enough looked in local shops today and compared on my ticket
  • 1 0
@pedaladdiction SST Oryg is available in a long travel MTB lower cable meant for cable pull discs. One of the cable adjusters is left-hand threaded but can be switched to match your lower plate. Semenuk runs his detangler upside down to clear the tapered headtube. This does not change any function. Just drill/tap some gyro tabs on your frame and a gyro plate under your stem and you should be good. Not exactly a bolt on but all the parts are BMX and super cheap. You could take 3 standard cables and run 2 from the detangler to a cable splitter and 1 cable to the caliper. You would need a splitter much like the old Primo Pervert though. Use one of the slimmer gyros and cable pull shouldn't be a problem. If you use the older types it could be an issue flipped as they are taller.
@Snowdog85 Thanks for linking the bike check. I guess I missed that article.
  • 1 0
Fantastic cheers guys yeh i've sorted all the other parts gyro tabs etc just needed for infer about the lower cable as like you say i was going to run a twin cable and machine my own split clamp to go to a single cable but wasn't keen on how it would look the oryg looks much cleaner! cheers guys keep an eye out will be posting a new build thread when done
  • 17 5
Cam zink's YT makes my peepee go ba-doing-doing-doinnnggg
  • 10 1
The dropouts on the morpheus look sketchy as hell. Sure they work fine though...
  • 8 1
el oh el hardtails. Tonights show gonna be awesome...So many guys to root for!
  • 8 1
 That YT... Take my money
  • 2 4
Do you have any? And if you do will it be enough that is something you might never get to know haha
  • 4 0
of the last prices what YT has had on the bikes, like th Carbon DH bike goes for 3999, i guess the YT carbon slope may be 1499-1999€
  • 1 1
If it goes into production at the moment they have some problems to fix the kiwi didn't rode his for instance
  • 8 3
Come on pinkbike, stop being lazy. Telling us the name of the bike is not a "bike check".
  • 6 0
Dude, bit harsh. Doesn't actually say "bike check" anywhere in the title or article does it? The title is "18 Slopestyle Bikes From Crankworx Rotorua". So this ain't a bike check, it's pictures of riders and bikes. Still might be lazy on their part, but you can't really rag on them for not doing bike checks when they haven't actually said they are...

Edit: of course they may have changed the title, in which case, as you were.
  • 3 1
Thought it said bike checks. Maybe they changed it or I could have misread it.
  • 4 1
Hey ss noob here but why do all the trecks have a derauilier? Is it like a coincidence that those particular riders like having one or is it some limitation of the bike? If it is not what do they use the deraulier for?
  • 15 0
The suspension on the ticket s doesn't pivot around the BB, so you can't run one single speed without a chain tensioner due to chain growth.
  • 10 1
Plus,Semenuk runs gears on his bike, all custom.
  • 1 0
 Thanks for answering man.
  • 4 0
Semenuk runs his shifter mounted to the water bottle bolts on the downtube. I would really like someone to make one of those available to the public.
  • 2 0
 They use srams roadbike shifters...
  • 4 0
Brandon has been running a down tube mounted TT friction shifter since 2009, when SRAM made a limited run of these custom shifters for their top slopestyle athletes. He has hung onto that shifter and has re-used it every year on his competition bikes; it was there for his 2011 and 2013 Crankworx victories and is on his 2014 bike
  • 1 0
So I guess what I really want is for sram or shimano to get off their asses and make a real one.
  • 6 0
Cam's whitewalls are pretty radical, I want em.
  • 1 2
a Touch of OLD SCHOOL G ride C Mac gone Gangsta on us lol
  • 1 0
Bontrager G Zero tires. Both 2.2 and 2.4 sized available with the white walls. I had them on my Ticket S.
  • 1 0
Ah, good on ya @seraph for that insight. I can't find the whitewalls- but I heard Cam lives in the next town over, I'll def ask for a set.
  • 9 7
How the fuzz can most of them ride those X0 carbon cranks without snapping them? Or are they just that sponsored? I have snapped 4 different SRAM carbon arms on small kiddy jumps, now back on Saint.
  • 5 5
I bet they have beefed up versions of them
  • 5 6
No kidding, over the past year I've seen more snapped carbon Sram cranks than Konas over the past few years. How is that even possible!
  • 12 1
Or they use the DH versions...
  • 4 1
The DH ones are no less notorious. In fact, the older DH ones used the same crank arms as the XC ones.

flag savmeister (Mar 28, 2015 at 14:55) (Below Threshold)
Maybe you should all learn to ride properly ???
  • 6 3
I teach mountainbiking and ride every day. 1 set of Noir, 2 XX1 and 1 X0 DH all failed. The DH version is a joke, they died without even jumping the bike. I was handed new ones on warranty every time, worked in a bike shop. But will never trust carbon arms again.
  • 10 2
Carbon arms are fine. I think only 2 or 3 sixc cranks have been reported broken. It's just the sram stuff that's dangerous.
  • 6 3
what? I ordered a tr500 and it has a xo crank ... now i'm worried
  • 5 3
I rode them for two years and never had any issue. Never seen anyone else have any either.
  • 7 1
Terry the messenger should quit casing jumps and smashing his pedals into the ground.

It's because they are all 16 years old dudes and weigh 50kg..

Maybe someone should teach you Mountain Biking...

Photos are mint but that one of Martin is just epic.
  • 2 1
Please somebody help me. I have a Specilized p2 and I really love it; but I wanna change the front suspension for a good rock shox or a Fox. What's the type I need in any of these brands. (For example fox talas 32?) Thanks
  • 2 0

  • 1 0
 Thanks bro
  • 3 0
Funny Logans bike is behind him, pretty sure its a Ticket with Santa Cruz decals
  • 2 0
man those things look so fun. The most I would do on them is go off plastic skateboard ramps though
  • 2 1
Mang WTF's with all the derailleurs? :s

Still, C-Mac's Trek is soooo rad. Just rather have it with a concentric BB pivot & no clunker on the back.
  • 3 0
Storch is not with fox anymore?
  • 2 0
I thought Carson storch had his arms in really long boots for a joke hahah!

Lovin this bikecheck, very cool machines. Dartmoor catches the eye the most. The rest is pretty obvious but the plastic YT.

Nice to see dartmoor at all these big events alongside all these mostly huge brands. Nothing will ever be as good and as affordable as dartmoor tho. Go Poland lol!

  • 5 0
 Seriously, Trek Ticket takeover.
  • 2 1
Why is there a need for shifters on Slopestyle bikes?
  • 2 1
Sometimes you need more speed when you are a rider of such caliber. Why switch cogs all the time when you can have 3 and change gears when needed. Smile
  • 3 2
Only 1 of 4 Trek riders seem happy to be here...
  • 2 1
Does Brett have knee pads under his pants or built into his pants?
  • 1 1
