Niner R.I.P. 9 - Review
I switched from a triple to a 34t when I realized that I didn't need my tiny gear to climb most of the big hills in my hood. But there are a few routes I use that require rolling on pavement for a while and I certainly wish I had a taller gear for that. I really have to spin to keep my speed and even spinning my hardest I'm about 2-3 mph slower with that 34t.

Ridden almost entirely in the ideal climate of the Marin, CA, this bike is in pretty good shape for a 6 year old bike that was used frequently, though not that aggressively for 3 of those years. For the last few years it's been sitting in a garage. All you need are some pedals to get it going. I'd probably swap out the 100mm stem for a 50mm or 70 to up the fun factor. The remote for the Reeba fork is a pretty nice upgrade.
