I know what people are on about. The World Cup and the majority are in Europe. But the venues are not picked. The resorts choose to host a round. It's all about money at the end of the day. Just like every sport.

That is not a 'World' cup - 2 rounds in usa/Canada and the rest Europe! It's just the same every year and feel it's killing the sport. I don't know how the race venues are picked but there must some fantastic tracks in other countries like Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Brasil, etc.

Yeah I get what your saying and I agree to a point but I think this track is a poor showing for world class athletes,,, the whole calendar is bad,,, I like the tracks generally but they should expand it by another 2 races defo need one in aus/ nz each season and need to push for one in South America!!

No southern hemisphere races , was hoping this might be the year they did an urban dh round in south America.

Think about it guys and girls. Venues may have great tracks but, if they can't accommodate the racing pits, media stands, video from track side (so we can actually watch it on the internet) accommodation for everyone as well as accessibility for the logistics, then why would they choose it?!!!!
Yes money is a factor but this isn't the choice of the resort. if it's a bike park or similar, they'd more than likely to lose money from loss of riders/visitors for a week. yes, spectators would keep the profit chart up for the likes of food stands and restaurants but the likes of the shops that deal with repairs/spares on visitors bikes won't sell and rental etc.

Why does everyone expect everything for so little or even free!!!! Granted, no southern hemisphere racing is a bit of a crap one. On average a rider from the UK will pay £3000+ for a return flight, accommodation and food for a 7-10 day turn around for one race. now add that in with SA and that's £6k. Yes, there are OZ and Kiwi riders in the mix but all if not most, are on major teams that foot the bill. Those that aren't find the money and enjoy the road trip around the world in a oner when the come to Europe and the America's.

Also geographically, there isn't a whole Lota land down south. The majority of land mass is in the northern hemisphere so statistically, there will be more bids from the north because there are more bidders. I think the 'world' cup in any sport is more about the entrants than the location. And the important part about the location for me is that it varies which in this case ing certainly does.

 Windham!! Fucks sake!!

I'm glad windham is on again , sure long racks are a good test but sub 3 minute tracks are basically a sprint for these guys so they can give 100 percent and not hold back for some stupid 30 second sprint half way down.
