Thanks guy's for you support and it's awesome to see that so many of you really liked my gopro video. Would have been awesome to move into the finals and let you vote for the overall contest winner. But yeah, thanks for your support I will keep on shredding and making hopefully more videos like this Fabio
Hmm... Fabio's was the most insane and followed the rules. Why did it lose to a clip that didn't and why are some of the winning and a lot of the runner up clips not following the rules set by the contest? Either they're not within the time frame allowed (1--2 minutes long) or they've been clearly posted up before (such as the Jaws video- one of the most insane lines done on a MTB)?
It'd be interesting to hear GoPro's take on why they're making exceptions because to the rest of us, it doesn't make sense. This isn't a "I lost and bitching" comment because I clearly wouldn't have won with the legit entries still allowed but this makes the contest seem way less legit which is a shame considering how much money is being invested into something that's original and accessible.
@scott-townes maybe they did set those rules at the outset, but the spirit of the contest is to show the best line in the most creative/beautiful way, and setting some silly arbitrary rules like length and existing video cheapens that goal. It makes perfect sense to me - are you just mad because an amateur didn't win?
^ Where did I write that AM riders should win? I don't care how many sponsors someone has and have always supported pros entering contests because a lot of them don't even make enough to live off of. What does that have to do with my post anyways? Try re-reading it. I bet there are a lot of people out there that feel a contest loses legitimacy if the people holding the contest ignore their own rules whenever convenient. That's the whole point of having any contest is to see who performs best within the given guidelines.
