Cody Kelley eighteen years old and the pride of Salt Lake City.

Kelley, a 20 year-old racer from the Salt Lake City, Utah area, focuses on the Enduro and downhill disciplines. He started riding bikes before he could even run, and began his two- wheeled obsession by shredding his back yard aboard a 12” Elmo bike. Kelley started racing BMX at a young age, got hooked on competition and moved over to the gravity scene at age 17. He had started to establish himself on the circuit, with a podium finish at the 2011 Downhill National Championships, winning the Sea Otter Classic Downhill, and a podium finish at the Pro Slalom National Championships. With an injury forcing him to spend more time pedaling as part of his recovery, he found a new passion and made the move to Enduro in 2014, where he had a consistent season racing the North American Enduro Tour.

“We’re thrilled to have such a talent in Cody racing on Marin this year,” said Matt Van Enkevort, CEO of Marin Bikes. “He’s super fast, and a really personable guy. We think he’s a perfect addition to the Marin crew.”

Kelley adds “I am super excited about this opportunity and to race for Marin. They have a stellar crew that wants to see myself and their other sponsored riders succeed.”

Look for Cody to be leaving his mark on the North American race scene this coming season on his Attack Trail, Mount Vision and Rift Zone frames. Kelley’s other sponsors include ENVE Composites, Shimano, Fox Racing Shox, Troy Lee Designs, Oakley, Café Rio, Mountain Racing Parts, ODI and Canyons Resorts.

They seemed to almost go out of business a couple of years back then they started releasing some pretty good bikes and are holding strong and still in the Greatful Dead warehouse.

Specialized and Treck backed magazines would have you believe that.

Right on, Codey! It's good feeling to watch the local BMX Grommets from a few years back growing up and making their dreams come true on mountain bikes. Plus I think a little bit of BMX influence will help Marin's bike design, IMO.

marin doesn't make a downhill bike according to their website... so when he is riding downhill what bike does he use?
  • 3 2
They do. Just google search it. Personally liked seeing him on specialized in the past. But, To each their own.

No nice way of saying it, but I've never seen anything Marin makes that I'd want to ride. Cody's got so much style, you probably won't even notice the bike, but damn, everything but their hardtails makes me cringe.

I sold a bunch of those Quake series bikes....and just few of the Team DH's. ..those we very cool bikes... that new Attack Trail is off the hook... i bought myself the XT9 as a demo.. loved it! !!... buttery smooth ride.

Is it just me or is there no other emotion for joining a new team than 'super stoked'?
I picture a new grom forgetting to say he was SUPER stoked in some interview and ending in an office somewhere getting told to be more than just plain old stoked..

Great news for Cody I'm sure!

But surely, @MarinBikes wouldn't it have been better to wait a handful more days to get some photos of Cody riding your bikes? And perhaps images not featuring the Spesh logo?
