Damn, 10% off? So you mean I can stay for only 4 grand a night?! What a deal!
  • 4 1
Surprisingly studios start at $150.00 US. And they have a bike valet, and a tuning stand. Sounds a bit too swanky for this old dirtbag.

@SteveDekker: I guess that depends on the date, because I humored myself price-checking a 3-night stay from the 29th to 1st, and found the cheapest available room was $359 after the pinkbike promo.

My 4-seasons tent was about $400, so if you were the type to only use a tent for one night before discarding it and buying a new one, then the pinkbike rate actually saves you money compared to finding a nice flat spot by the river to camp and enjoy your post-ride meat/ beer.

@bderricks: I just checked rates today. I'm with you.

Not everyone's wife is willing to stay in a tent. Thanks for the offer pinkbike. Options are always good. If I ever make it back to Whistler, it will not be done on the cheap. I wouldn't skimp on a twice in a lifetime holiday!

@jaame: time for trade in the wife
  • 8 7
 I hate tents.

@SteveDekker: The work area was actually an awesome perk. I remember that staying with my dad here a decade ago... and also making out with a lady 20 years older than me at Buffalo Bill's. The prices are kinda insane anywhere in the village to be fair.

@scott-townes: Dude! Yeah any resort village, its out of control. Thats why Ive always had a van.

theres gonna be some ads tho

You can hook up an Air B n B deal at nearly half that in a shit-ton nicer place. Fuck hotels.
  • 2 0
@malathion: that is good to know.

A Hilton employee once told me: "No one ever pays the walk-in price."

Will my bike get a day spa package... fresh bleed, new chain, suspension tune aka happy ending for my shock

You can pitch a tent on my lawn for $200/ night, great view, pool, hot tub .... I have three kids to get through university and they all need new bikes too!
  • 2 0
In all seriousness, is there anywhere decent to camp up there? We stay at that little campground right outside of town but it can be a real shitshow

 @Rucker10: cal cheek?

@Rucker10: Riverside resort, not bad, lots of hot water.

Dear pinkbikers: if you take advantage of this amazing deal, please act exactly like you do in the comments section. Please.

Can we bring our bikes into the rooms?
  • 5 0
Only if there is two pounds or more of mud on it.
  • 2 0
ha was just thinking that. Its a deal breaker for finding a room up there
  • 2 0
In the past NO. They have a locked bike valet room. Just like a car they store it and you give them your ticket to retrieve it. They was actually word of a extra fee if they found you were bringing you bike in the room.
  • 1 0
Virtually all the hotels in Whistler ban bikes (also ski's and snowboards in winter) from going into rooms. Probably to much damage to rooms. I'd rather the bike valet then some other places with locked bike lockers that have direct to outside doors you have to use.
  • 1 0
I have stayed at two hotels and a number of condos. The hotels had good safe systems for storing your bikes. Condos we always brought them in regardless of the rules. They always had sketchy rooms with a couple better bikes that looked like they had moved in years. But walking through the halls and rooms you would see all kinds of damage to walls and doorways from bars and pedals.

I can see it now: Me and my bike cuddling by the fire after a long ride...Me wandering if I am going to get to ride it tonight, it wandering if it's going to get ridden again tonight.
  • 3 0
I'm sure if you ask they can put down a bearskin rug for you to spoon on with your bike.

As someone who used to work for Hilton, all their pricing is demand based and dynamically calculated by a yield management system. Crankworx will never have the lowest available rate because it's a busy weekend. The best deals will be when they have forecasted a busy spell but the bookings haven't materialised for whatever reason, ie last minute. This is when a lot of rooms will be pushed out to 3rd party sites but also where the pb offer would have the lowest pricing.

 Option 2: Lodge with Cougars.

Coug or lifty, lol reminds me of my early whis days

Always a good choice; older women feed you better, and buy you bling for your bike.

We were on a road-trip with our young kids 3 or 4 years ago and ended staying 2 nights at the Ava (where a bunch of the riders stay) during Crankworx. Was crazy, we had planned to just drive through since we had the kids, but instead I ended up hanging out with Makken, Lacondeguy and Tippie while relaxing in the hot-tub. All for a last minute $140 a night deal!

The best part was I didn't recognize Makken and I asked him what brought him to Whistler, and he responded "I like to ride my bike." He didn't say anything about being a competitor...lol
  • 2 0
@burnbern: I've stayed at the Ava a few times, even without it being Crankworks and there being living legends everywhere, it is one of my favourite spots.
  • 2 0
@AJ420: would like some of what you are smoking cuz it made your brain like pudding. I think most blue collar workers are pushing to make $50,000 in one year brah. Maybe some dentists or doctors can afford $50,000 vacation but I don't think the average pink bike user can
  • 1 0
By the time dentist and doctors pay off their loans(usually 100k x 2 or 3) they can hardly take mtb trips cuz theyre over 40 with kids, and hopfefully married.
  • 2 0
No offense, but this is not a deal for pinkbikers, but a deal for pinkbike to make commission. If you don't get 10% off a hotel you aren't trying, and pinkbike is probably making the extra 10% cut that you are leaving on the table.

Staying at the hilton is pretty nice and convenient. I've done it and have stored my bike in the valet lockup without issues and snuck the bike up to my room as well. Being within a few minutes walking distance to the lift is very lax. The in room sauna in some of the sweets are nice. However for the same amount of money you can get a sweet rental house or townhouse close to the village with friends that has its own hot tub and bbq. Both totally different experiences... whatever floats your boat.
  • 1 0
Not that you could get this deal on a big weekend but look into a RV rental for $400 for a 3 day weekend. Private and dealers. This is my new go to after shopping for a new trailer and realizing I don't have to be strapped into a payment plan.

Lake Louise Alberta. The average room rate is $400 a night and all the hotels are at max capacity. Family of 4 for 1 week would be higher then $400 a night especially if you want a suite. Then it's closer to $800 - $1000 a night. Then factor food and flights from over seas ( not counting the US of A). Rental car, travel insurance. Add rentals and lift tickets. Or $100 or more for bikes on plane (yes some do it for free). I have been here for 11 years and have a pretty good idea of the industry. Not including loss of work. It's expensive. Trust me.

Bike Valet? does that mean they're gonna drive it like they stole it?
  • 4 1
AHAHAHAHA. Mountain bikers really stickin' it to the man these days eh?
  • 4 0
Mountain biking hasn't been about 'sticking it to the man' for a very very long time. Since companies sprang up and decided to sell parts and frames and whole bikes.
  • 1 0
Aw c'mon I JUST booked my room for next week a couple days ago and Hilton was one of the contenders, that would've sealed the deal for me. Aava won out this time
  • 1 0
I tried it without the Pinkbike rate and its cheaper at the HH sale price that's on now.

Depends what kind of dunny role they use - I prefer bark and leaves - so hope they have a date scraper menu too

New pink bike poll: does your bike cost more than the car you drive
  • 2 1
Step 1. Buy ten thousand dollar bike.
  • 6 0
Step 2. Go ride it and enjoy it some people on Internet forums might get angry at you for following this step but who cares you have a nice bike.
  • 4 1
If you can afford an expensive bike and expensive kit, plus air tickets to Canada for a riding holiday, spending another two grand on a plush hotel isn't going to break the bank.
  • 3 1
@jaame: this is logical. No room for that on this website.
  • 1 3
@jaame: I live in a tourist destination and I fully agree. The average some one pays to come to Canada for a vacation from over seas with kids and wife is about $50k. The 10% helps if you want to upgrade your stay but not break the bank. Kudos to on and you for pointing out the logic. Smile
