big ups to whistler's jack Iles for qualifying for his first elite world cup! 60th place, 1 tenth and one spot ahead of greg minnar. 16.6 sec off the pace, but whatever, he made the sunday show on his first try.

What Loic says after getting up : Holly f*ck I'm not hurt
  • 5 0
@oldfaith Aaron Gwin got a DSQ because he crashed out of bounds. The DSQ was given because he did not re-enter the track at the same point he left it due to tumbling 20 yards down the hill. But it looks like he still gets to race tomorrow!!

 Tracey Hannah smashing it!
  • 2 0
 hell yeah
  • 5 0
I would like SO MUCH that she dominates this season !!! We all wanna see her back on top! , it's a long time since PMB 2012....

  • 32 9
Why the shit would anyone give negative props for being helpful? Haha!
  • 35 2
 Phwoar, Tracey smoked em!
  • 9 2
While I didn't neg prop you, it may be because your link does not actually take you to live qualifying at all.
  • 8 2
I noticed that since! My bad. It seemed to be working during the juniors though.
  • 18 0
The effort is always appreciated brother!
  • 5 1
This commenting on pinkbike seems very cut throat. One minute your getting propped n next your not. Very hard game. go the kiwis!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Gstadd-Scott team looking on point!!!
  • 44 1
WOW!!! Tracy Hannah just smashed Rachel Atherton's Qualy time by 5 Sec!!!
  • 17 0
Looking at the splits, Trace put that whole margin on Rach in the last minute of the track, I reckon she had an issue... either way, awesome to see Trace on point!
  • 1 0
Hell yeah, first two were tight!
  • 5 0
 tracy....tracy....tracy........tracy,,,,,,,,,,tracy! yes

I'm amazed that she's less than 20 seconds behind Bruni. Tracey seems to be on fire this season.

they give out medals for qualifying now?

sunday is the show.

gonna be a good battle.
  • 13 0
@stacykohut - they do give out points, and points matter to WC overall contenders!
  • 6 14
flag stacykohut (Apr 11, 2015 at 8:48) (Below Threshold)
all i'm saying is that sunday is when it counts.
  • 10 2
@stacykohut since they give points for good qualifiers, you can't say only sunday counts...
  • 1 0
I think @stacykohut forgot to complete his sentence with 'when it counts "to me"'. Smile
  • 1 2
 so people..............

how did tracey do in THE ACTUAL F-ING RACE?..................

thats right.................

10 seconds off.

the real raced is sunday, every racer knows that.

maybe better luck next time, and don't serve up your best run in qualies................

which mean NOTHING.

lol.
  • 4 0
@stacykohut she had a huge crash, you moron
  • 1 3
 she crashed and.........................

?

?...................

she qualified well so the racing gods won't let her crash?

whats your point?
  • 4 0
 Shut your cake hole stacky.
  • 1 3
 stacky?

lol.
  • 6 0
What the heck - Gwin won the race but Loic Bruni is in first place in the World Cup overall standings? How did that happen? Oh yeah, it was the 50 points he earned in qualifying!
  • 36 0
It looks like Gee had a crash. DNF.
  • 11 0
wonder how bad it was and if he'll be out, he was fast in practice, its always good when its a tight race hopefully he didnt get hurt too bad
  • 13 0
f*ck, that sucks. anyone has news of gwin?
  • 122 16
 jesus protects him
  • 15 0
Judging by the fact that his first split seemed a bit back, I would hazard a guess that Gwin went off the track somewhere near the top and didn't enter at the same point that he left the track, thus disqualifying him. But at least he's protected, being a top 20 rider Smile
  • 37 0
Gee crashed and got a lift to the bottom - hurt hand but should race tomorrow...
  • 10 1
the protection works for dsq, dnf and dns?
  • 11 0
Loic is the only one that beat Gee's time from yesterday.
  • 6 0
Seems the protection doesn't works for DNS...sam hill will not race tomorrow even if he feels better And it's a shame Vergier wasn't protected as he moved up to elite category. and bummer for Eliot Jackson...
  • 4 0
Yeah protection doesn't work for dns. I remember Gee just rolling out of the start gate a few years ago when he was injured just so would be eligable to race.
  • 4 0
Gee fastest at split 2, hopefully he's fit to race tomorrow.
  • 3 0
Yeah Gee and Rach have both done that in recent years, but I guess Sam's injury is enough that he knows he doesn't want to race tomorrow so it's presumably pretty serious. His wife said on Instagram that she hopes he's better for Fort Bill so it doesn't sound like its minor.
  • 4 0
Atherton Racing on Twitter: @gee_atherton crashed out in quali today. Should be strapped up for tomorrow.
  • 4 2
Anyone know why Gwin was disqualified?
  • 56 7
 Gods plan
  • 76 2
He went off course because he thought he saw the virgin mary on a berm. Turned out to be a cloud of dust left by Loic Bruni. Then he came in further down than when he went out.
  • 2 0
 So vergier won't be racing?
  • 3 0
 @i-anac
the "Q" on the right of the point means "qualified for the race" I think.
So no, vergier won't be racing... Frown
  • 1 1
Redbull.com does say.... watch out for "Bruni" on this track.......? I guess we will all see! It would be sweet tho.......
  • 3 0
He's a protected rider so he'll be riding tomorrow. Here's what happened... instagram.com/p/1WTjG1FSsJ
  • 2 0
Gwin crashed over the handlebars and his bike went over the course tape and down the track slightly so he went down to where his bike was and rode on from there. It wasn't just as simple as he went off the track and started again lower down.
  • 30 0
So amped for Deano sitting in 5th and Connor in 6th (at the time of typing this comment!) Big Grin These guys are two riders to watch for sure!
Gutted for Sam though... Frown
  • 1 0
Bummed for Sam, either dean or Connor on the podium would be the go. And Tracey for the win
  • 23 1
Get some Neko from the East Side!
  • 19 0
Wow Tracey just "Hulk Smashed" the whole field!
  • 22 4
Sorry guys, this track is for our frenchies ! Big Grin
  • 13 2
I'll admit, ts good to see the French back in it again.

2nd split: 6th
... DNF

what a bummer! Frown
  • 14 0
It seems like almost all of the quick juniors have moved up to elite this year apart from Laurie Greenland. I'd be surprised if he doesn't dominate the category this year.
  • 18 1
 Look out for Crimmins Wink
  • 3 1
 Remy is damn fast
  • 3 0
And look at Greenland's time! He's right up there with the elites.
  • 2 0
Looks like he was fastest of all the Trek team. That's quite something! Go on Laurie lad!
  • 14 1
Gee was fastest at split 1, shame he DNF Frown , Well done to the Frenchies and ratboy
  • 13 0
Amazing to see bryceland so competitive after such a serious injury. It wasn't serious in a life threatening sense but ankles are complex things to heal sometimes.
  • 1 0
It was his foot, but you are dead right
  • 3 1
Oops, yeah his foot. Gotta respect all these athletes. They get injured and then bounce back quickly by spending tons of time on physical therapy and training.
  • 4 0
Being in top shape goes a long way in recovering from injuries. If that was you or I that blew our foot up, we'd be lucky to be back on a bike by now, let alone throwing down a top-3 qualifier at a WC DH race.
  • 12 1
Cheers with beers to Neko !!!
  • 12 1
Gee DNF and Gwin DSQ!! Lourdes already throwing up some surprises!
  • 12 2
Damn Sam Hill is a DNS. It's the end of the world. Fuck!
  • 9 0
i hope brendog can push it into top 5
  • 8 1
Watch out for Luca Shaw in the future!! His first Elite Men quali finishing 22nd and about .3 seconds behind Mick Hannah! Get some Luca!
  • 5 0
Gee and Gwin shouldn't be written off because of their mishaps in qualifying today. Their times from timed training yesterday would have placed them both well into the top ten for qualifying. Should be a great race tomorrow. Also looking to see how Neko does. Going to be awesome! Can't wait!
  • 8 0
Damn Tracey Hannah is flying!!! good lass!
  • 10 2
It's just not the same with out Sam Hill
  • 8 0
 Where's Danny Hart?
  • 6 0
 40th
  • 5 0
Must of had a bad day at the office then!
  • 9 0
Only 11 seconds back, pretty incredible really; times are fairly tight for a relatively long and rough track. 90% chance of rain tonight though! That could really shake things in Danny's favor!
  • 13 0
He had a flat from half way...
  • 3 0
Holy that's a pretty good result for having a flat.
  • 3 0
 Is he using procore ?
  • 4 0
No it was the boost 189.75mm head tube that caused it Wink
  • 5 0
I think Loic is gonna dominate tomorrow. Even though Gee and Gwin didn't get full runs, this track seems to suit Loic and Remi very well.
  • 2 0
They have a home court /crowd advantage too! Both are incredible riders when on all cylinders.
  • 4 0
james hurst 1 vision global racing, well done mate Q19 first world cup, go for it tomorrow jimmy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 7 0
 Lets go ratboyyyyyy!!!
  • 6 0
Boooom!! Josh 3, such a comeback
  • 2 0
Ohhh man.... if Bruni wins tomorrow, on home soil, all hell is gonna get loose.... they are gonna take down the house and turn France upside down.... That's gonna be one epic win! Somebody is gonna get hurt maybe even die.... Smile
Wow.... is this the most exciting world cup or what????
  • 5 0
Yes Elliot!! First season Q7 sweet!!! Good luck got tomorrow dude
  • 3 0
Hopefully Tracey doesn't lose any steam and keeps charging all year ! If she wants it more than the others she has the skill to do it !
  • 2 0
It's going to be a very interesting race tomorrow after the results today. Maybe this is the season we will see a fresh wave of up and commers wipe the older guys off the mantle.
  • 2 0
I doubt they made the exact same kona operator with the same color with different geo for Connor in 27.5. And you think they would have said something about him riding a 27.5 operator. But congrats on making top 10 on a 26
  • 1 0
 @anthonytutor I think this is a 27.5" Operator, look at that : www.pinkbike.com/news/results-world-cup-dh-lourdes-2015-seeding.html#cid1096813 Wink
  • 1 0
 Yep, that's 27,5 Operator. Smile
  • 4 0
Tracey Hannah currently in the lead by nearly 6 seconds!!
  • 4 0
Go Tracy!!! I hope you get the Win tomorrow!!!
  • 5 0
 The Rat is back!!!
  • 4 0
Yeah Connor "Fear-OFF" Fearon, kick some asses!
  • 3 0
Nooo Loris!! :'( Looking at time-training it is safe to say that he'll be among the top riders this year.
  • 6 4
How I translate the results. Local knowledge pays off, rat is still strong, neco is on fire, gwin and gee played at 110% and lost.
  • 5 2
Track is new : no one has ridden it before, so no advantages for the "locals" (Remy and Loïc are not living in this region at all)
  • 3 0
No Jackson must have went down =( I was looking forward to watching him slay the race run.
  • 1 0
Yeah he went down pretty hard, saw it on a highlight reel. Don't know how bad off he is though....
  • 4 0
Amazing to see Josh recovered from such injury.
  • 2 0
I honestly thought Mulally would be slower on the big gambler than last year on the session, himself and brendog have obviously been putting in work
  • 3 0
 Tracey Hannah's on fire!!
  • 5 1
 Sam will not Racing!
  • 4 3
We like waited for 6 months in the off season for a no show.. Im sure he is frustrated also but this is just bummer.
  • 3 0
did Gee crash? DNF on the uci site
  • 1 0
He was flying at the first split!
  • 3 0
Must have, 1st place on the split then nothing, hopefully just a mechanical
  • 2 0
 what a bummer Frown
  • 1 0
He crashed, possible wrist injury, but it's not confirmed yet!
  • 1 0
man...front slides away, total body contact with the ground. that hurts.
  • 3 1
Elite men r gonna have to pick up pace or the junior men r gonna all move up a class ?? They r hungry this yr !!
  • 4 1
Go Ratboy!!!! Let's prove em wrong!!!
  • 2 1
What is the deal with Syndicate Racing? I remember glancing over something a while back; can they not have a team name? Smells like the UCI...
  • 11 0
They aren't being acknowledged by the UCI as an "elite" team due to their kits mis-matching. Meanwhile, over at Specialized Factory Racing...the kits Brosnan and Gwin are rocking don't look "uniform".

The moral of the story? The UCI is a hypocritical pile of crap.
  • 1 0
To correct myself, it's the different brands of kits the Syndicate are using. Spec, I believe, use the same brand of kit at least. I still stand behind the whole UCI being a hypocritical pile of crap part, though.
  • 3 0
Troy uses special ed kit gwin uses TLD. They are on a different suspension brand too.
  • 4 0
Thanks for clarification @qldmtb - UCI can suck it.
  • 2 0
UCI loves to turn cycling into bureaucratic bullshit. One day, an alternative will present itself. Thanks for the info @Pininator
  • 2 0
Top 10 placements for all the Kona riders! Gonna he a great day of racing tomorrow!!
  • 2 0
Remi is only 0.009sec up on the rat!
It's a long way from over (as long as he doesn't get shit faced tonight).
  • 2 0
Rachel up on Manon at Split #1 by 4 seconds.
  • 3 1
WTF why Gwin is DSQ ?? :/
  • 3 0
possible crash and rejoin in the wrong place by the sounds of it
  • 2 0
That sucks! I hope he can ride tomorow even if he is DSQ
  • 6 1
Being a top 20 rider he is protected. Both gee an gwin will be able to race 2morrow
  • 1 0
Ok cool ! I was thinking that works just with DNF riders
  • 1 0
It works for DNF and DSQ, but not for DNS. So no chance Sam Hill could ride tomorrow
  • 2 0
 Why was Gwin disqualified?

Is Connor ferron riding a 26 kona operator??????
  • 1 0
 no 27.5
  • 1 0
You sure about that? I thought the prototype Yellow Precept he had been riding was the 27.5.

The Operator is still 26"
  • 1 0
Connor is back to 26 inches with the Operator, that proto frame was 27'5 but it was not a Precept, it was just a test mule.
I think that Kona's going to get Fearon a 27,5 Operator soon, maybe even sooner. Smile
  • 2 0
@olaffons Really looks like a 27.5" Operator, the rear base is longer than the one on their website, and the fork looks like a 27.5" Boxxer.

Take a look at this one (27.5" I think) : instagram.com/p/1TUcBkHT7Y
And this other one (26") : instagram.com/p/1Od2olnT57
-> Not the same fork, and the speeds-gears aren't at the same place behind the pivot point. Smile
  • 1 0
yes guys, Connor its riding a Kona Carbon Operator 27.5 wheels front and rear, same front triangle as the 26 with 27.5 fork & a little bit longer chainstays its a "prototype".
  • 1 0
@Voxran, pardon my French, you're absolutely right, that's 650b operating Operator that has been operated by Connor... Smile
  • 1 0
What happened to Eliot? Must have crashed to be that far back? Frown
  • 1 0
No comment about Minnaar (61st) ? What happened to him ?
  • 4 0
Minnaar suffered a torn ligament in his thumb just two weeks ago in NZ. He had surgery and a special cast placed on, but it's just not worth aggravating and chancing for a worse/longer recovery time. Wish he would just sit it out and let it heal. I love when Greg is a torpedo!

It's at the other end of the results that you're used to seeing him at. He was DQ'ed, BUT is a protected rider and will race tomorrow.

thanks pin, wonder what that was all about..
