(in addition to the others who qualify)
youre delusional, go home and read a book
Not sure what they would do if he finished 31st and it was a dead tie. I think they would first go to number of wins, but if Greg wins Val Di Sole, he and Aaron would be tied at 3 a piece.
What would they go to next? Total time for all 7 races? Number of qualification wins? Number of times Aaron has finished ahead of Greg and Greg ahead of Aaron regardless of place?
Standings after Qualies:
1. Aaron Gwin - 1129
2. Greg Minaar - 979 (+150)
3. Loic Bruni - 899 (+230)
4. Troy Brosnan - 873 (+256)
5. Josh Bryceland - 726 (+403)
Soooooo...:
- World Cup Champion is either Gwin or Minaar.
- If Minaar wins (+200), Gwin needs at least 50 points to have a draw, which means that he has to finish 31st or better.
- If Minaar gets second (+160), Gwin needs at least 10 points to have a draw, which means that he has to finish 71st or better.
The chance to have a crash or a broken bike is pretty high for both Minaar and Gwin. Especially on this track!
So it's going to be interesting tomorrow!
edit: Unless any of them balls up during practice, & gets a DNS.
Better stay fit and ride some races to get a good result at the champs + next season.
But otherwise this is a track he likes and i hope he can redeem himself for that awfull slide out of '08.
