Jenny Rissveds for the win. First cycling gold for Sweden in 40 years. Fantastic performance.

On the last lap she put 30s on the whole field, including Pendrel. That is fast.

 Yep, sick ride. Super impressive.

 So freaking awesome!! Big Grin

Crazy comeback from Pendrel, almost blazed the whole damn field! And Batty, wow you guys were pushing things at the end - if only there were 1-2 more laps!

Well done to Jenny. Really peaked at the right time with her first Sr. win and Olympics win back-to-back. Heja heja.

Go Olympics. And hopefully more bike-related events. If diving gets "Mens Synchro" we should at least get downhill, xc, 4x, enduro, track, and bmx.

 BMX already in mate

@brandaneisma: I think you missed his point
  • 6 3
@brandaneisma: Sort of bmx, its a paved track; no dirt.

I had my fingers crossed Maja could stay closer but J-Ris was too strong today; happy MW got silver.

Poor Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, didn't see the crash but it's usually spectacular with her

A friend asked me why no DH in the Olympics, only thing I can come up with is some dh'ers might not pass the pee test

Skate boarding gonna be risky Wink

Course looked tough and while it might be fake (not natural) it means that we can get course wide coverage and spectators can see it all. I love DH but you get to watch only 30 seconds of a 3-5 min run.

I rode the London 2012 course and while it looked a bit soulless from a work out perspective it was tough! And fake rock gardens are not less tricky than real ones.

Olympics is about the spectators, not that many are actually watching any sports in Rio.

That 2012 course is lethal....the rock garden is a boulder field !!!

 We love you Maja !!!

Vid doesn't do that track justice, steep as hell.
  • 9 6
Steep, but its the kind of track that made xc so un-popular. A dirt road with fake rock gardens; challenging but not much fun to watch.

@SteveDekker: Exactly what I was thinking. Like the "river" kayaking. Just isn't right.
