Alright PB editors, we'll try this one.. more... time...
DON'T POST SPOILERS IN THE F*CKING HEADLINE! - It makes the "REPLAY" feature completely useless and you are ruining the race/contest for all of us who couldn't watch the event live!
Every other sports-related site has figured this out and never post spoilers directly on the front page, but PB keeps f*cking it up over and over again... Why?
Seriously though, it doesn't piss you off when you look forward to an event that you can replay (the glory of rewind/fast forward to watch your favourite racer do an incredible feat) only to see that the winner is already posted??? People who give a damn about their sports don't care about seeing the result, joy is in the process my friend.
^^^^ THIS! Imagine if TV stations put up spoilers of sports games that were shown in delay, as is often the case. No-one would watch. So idiotic to put results in headlines!
@ninjaty It's not a complaint to just complain for the hell of it. It's bitching because the douche who posted the results ruined an entire event for people. Screw it, let's just post up the result for a massively anticipated sporting event 20 minutes before it's done while we're at it. Whatever happened to "hall of dirt results!" As the headline?
@vroomvroompartystarter: It is kinda complaining because of the hell of it. Dude this is free content. The fact that you pay nothing to have all the latest news in an sport that we all love and you piss and moan that the editors screw up your experience of sitting on your ass watching aka not riding is kind of ridiculous. Show some class. Thanks Pinkbike for the hard work.
Have any of you ever read the news? Results are in the headlines everyday for all sorts of sports. If you miss the Super Bowl or the Stanley Cup there is no avoiding knowing the result almost as soon as it's over (granted those are on a different scale). Sure it's not awesome if you really want to watch the replay like it's live, but that's life.
ninjaty, nothing is free. Secondly, they ask for your time in order to advertise their sponsors to you. Thirdly, the idea that if something is free it is immune to critique is utterly, utterly moronic.
It's a good thing you cleared that up @redrook. You have not made one point I don't agree with...Free lunch? no such thing. Pinkbike promoting sponsors to you? true. Although, I can't remember the last time I received a bill in the mail for my PB membership, so it's probably a good thing there are sponsors. Having the freedom to "critique" (because there are not enough of those people out there) fine, to each his own. But there is a difference in critique, constructive feedback (you can hit "contact" at the bottom of this page), and complain which is what has been clearly displayed in this thread. Again, show some class.
Ninjaty that is perhaps the dumbest logic I've ever heard. There's a comment section right here for a reason. Not every comment has to be kissing ass. Not posting spoilers is the most basic thing for a sports blog, and that's EXACTLY what Pinkbike is.
Just because you don't care about having the replay ruined doesn't mean that other people aren't allowed to care ninjaty. Grow up mate. Love how you got in some dig about having "class" at the end there, to try to hide the fact that you have none of your own.
On paper it seems like Bizet should have won, but you have to remember that style and amplitude play a big role in the scores, which Tommy G clearly has the upper hand with in my opinion.
Yeah, I know the Bizet isn't actually the steeziest guy in the circuit, but honestly 3-table? If it was for example the 3-whip, flipwhip etc. I would agree with the judges completly, but U've got to admit that the level of risk in Bizzys run was way hiogher than in the Thomas' run. I'm totally aware of the fact that not only the tricks matter, but if U got asked before the comp how would the 96/100 point run look like, I'm sure that there would be no 3-table on the first jump. And that's my point- even though it's amplitude and execution was perfect this trick was impressive 8 years ago...
I was at the stadium and i can tell you the 3 table was f*cking impressive. I hate most of the decisions by the fmb judges and they even made strange scores that day in qualifing but the top 3 finals were okay. Genon made better tricks on 3/4 jumps and i think i didn't see anyone else three that first big jump. I saw about 6 double flips at that jump out of 2 riders.
All of Genon's runs were super dialed, looking forward to his season. Bizet's doubles are always perfect. Bummed Granieri and Messere couldn't ride, sick event

Still, he showed some impressive shit...
