Rode by this the other day. The video doesn't do it justice. So tight and steep its insane. Dude rips, and all the stuff they build is dope. Oh, and no I won't tell you where this is.
Really PB "This has to be one of the gnarliest trails in the world." This is a great vid, awesome trail work and riding but weren't all the old freeride legends riding stuff like this years ago. Regardless I love stunts.
"weren't all the old freeride legends riding stuff like this years ago", whats your point? It was badass then and badass now. I appreciate the building as much as the riding, this took so much work and it is an entire line, not just a big hit and then move on to the next one like a lot of others in the past. This stuff takes so much time to design and build, especially all that woodwork, imagine having to lugg all that wood and move all that dirt deep in the woods prolly miles from a road. This was one of the most impressive lines of the year, nothing against the fest series stuff but all they do is get a buncha dirt movers, push some dirt around a big field, water and call it a day (im exaggerating but you get the idea).
Wade Simmons was such a stylish rider in those videos, beautiful flow through extreme stunts and all kinds of technical tweaks as he rides. I had the pleasure of riding with him for a day here in the UK and he was a super friendly guy who showed me some cool technical tricks for the wooden trails
@scottsecco how many times did he have to ride the trail for you to get the video? With all the different shots and angles, there can't have been like 30 cameras in set up in different places, right? BTW that was a sick video, congrats Dylan!
Hey @dropoffsticks, Dylan and I spent about a week filming the full trail and I lost count of the number of times he rode it. I only have one camera, so each shot would be one time riding the line (although he didn't need to hit every feature for every shot). I would guess there are about 40 shots in the video, and lots of footage that didn't make the final cut. I bet he rode the line 75+ times during filming. @dsheffer is a workhorse!
Ride this zone average of three times a week, just found out this trail is built in same area. Still have yet to check it out, hopefully still there. Will not be doing the suicide drop at the end of the original segment though. Props to the builders and workers keeping this zone alive and well.
Waow the speed it seems you need to carry on those skinnys for that nearly sideways berm-out is seriously impressive. Not to mention that impressive riding also
awesome old clip (NWD8 )

Some some of these badasses would make their way to Windrock to build something.
