Not only does Jeremy shred Mammoth Mountain on his sit ski in the Winter, but he knows how to push the limits in the park and backcountry on his mountain bike. Watch as he progresses his skills from park MTB riding to Backcountry MTB riding and attempts obstacles we can only imagine. He has found that getting outside, learning new skills, and testing his physical and mental limits helps him cope with the claustrophobic feeling of being paralyzed.

I met Jeremy in Jackson last year when he showed us his film "Bloody Couloir".

Dude, if you're reading this, just know that you're a true inspiration and if you ever feel like coming up to Tahoe to go ride give me a shout.

Thanks, my brother! Means a lot to me!

Same here bro, massive massive respect and if you ever in the North-East of England me and my friends would be honored to ride with you!

Beast of a human. Mad respect for this guy, more power to you! on a side note, i think a bicycle company should give this "tricycle" a shot at research and development, and put it out there on those big bike trade shows. I'm sure there's already awareness of bicycles of such nature, and they're reaching out on a another niche group of cyclists. So why not eh?
  • 6 0
Thanks for the respect. Really means a lot to me. The engineers who make this bike just came out with a new version. See www.polyGEARious.com/explorer. Having a big company behind it would be rad though!

The option for electric assist on the new bike looks like it would open up all sorts of terrain for you to ride now. This is one time (I would hope) that people shouldn't complain about electric assist on a bike. Props to you for not letting life get in your way.
  • 3 0
Ya i'm stoked on it for sure. At first i was anti but now i just want to keep up with my friends. Ya i don't foresee anyone having a problem with it. Might need to work something out with the Forest Service though for backcountry expeditions. We'll see!

I would support electric assist in this instance, as long as there is a manual backup.

Truly amazing what the human mind and spirit can do, good on you bro!.

YOU MUST SHOW NO MERCY...
... NOR HAVE ANY BELIEF WHATSOEVER
IN HOW OTHERS JUDGE YOU...
...FOR YOUR GREATNESS WILL SILENCE
THEM ALL...

i love this. thank you so much. actually pretty pertinent right now.

Truly inspirational. Wish I had good friends like that. If I became paralyzed I have no doubt that my freinds would be all "that sucks" and would never look back, Glad this guy has the motivation and support behind him to do whatever the f*ck he wants regardless of what's trying to hold him back.
  • 2 0
That's exactly what I was thinking about if I became paralyzed while watching this.
  • 6 0
Whats that African proverb? 'If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Something like that. Anyway, i'm lucky to have such good friends. Thanks for the love, guys! Means a lot to me. jM

All excuses for not going for a ride are now invalid. It has to be twice as gratifying to finally climb a hill by yourself as it would I with the option to hike.

Where's some carbon manufacturer/clergy to step up and make this guy a lighter frame? Someone help out and get this man a seriously high tech carbon frame. Would be a tremendous help in amount of weight of that rig. Lets all donate to the cause?
  • 2 0
I've never even thought about making this thing carbon. That would be siiic!!! I'll talk with the manufacturer. www.sport-on.com. Don't even know if its possible. My email is contact@jeremymcghee.com
  • 3 0
Impressive stuff! Imagine how awesome it will be when the wireless electronic MTB drivetrains hit the market for an application like this. You will be able to stay on the power with both arms while shifting! Now I am looking forward to that development!
  • 1 0
Holy shit! You and me both! that would be sic!!! i totally need to stop cranking and loose all my momentum, when i shift. Need to contact Shimano about DI2.

For whatever reason, the only thing that I can even think of is a quote from Shawshank Redemption: "Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'." Jeremy is clearly living, much more so than 99% of the population. When he looks back on his life, I can only think he will think of all he has done, not what he hasn't. I hope I can say the same.

 Look at You go Homie!!!!!
I met Jeremy in mammoth about 7 yrs. ago... I was a sales rep selling product to the Bike Shop Jeremy was working at, Footloose ports!! I had suffered a real bad break and was going thru a reconstructive ankle rebuild. On crutches for over a year, 2 yrs. total. I would see Jeremy every trip I made to Mammoth getting on the lift, rolling around the shop and just Charging Life!!! He would take the time to ask how I was doing, Healing? and just getting on.... Truly one of the most Inspirational People I have Ever met!!
Thanks Again!! Forever Humble!!

@jpmcghee can you say gofundme?? No joke, pb users will fund a new one for you in a heartbeat.
  • 3 0
Ah thanks for the support. It seriously feels good. I've been thinking about it. Hm...
  • 1 0
Also, have you ever skied Park City? It has one of the best adaptive skiing program around. I see over a dozen adaptive skiers every time I ski there.
  • 3 0
ya i've skied there. great program. as i'm getting older, i resort ski less and less though.
  • 1 0
I would support a go-fund me for this dude, without question! A couple bucks from a couple thousand peeps will add up very fast!
  • 2 0
@ajsosa78 Thank you for the support. I'm thinking more and more about it...
  • 3 0

ABSOLUTELY INSPIRATIONAL JEREMY! You are crushing it!!! I know what you mean when you say you don't have to be in a wheelchair to feel claustrophobic. I work in a cubical everyday in an office with no windows and getting out on my bike absolutely saves me from mental breakdown.
  • 2 0
I used to work in a cubicle and i started drinking a lot. Haha. Ya nature heals all. Pushing myself, challenging my soul and getting to new places is everything for me. Thank you so much for your words! Means a lot to me

I stumbled up @jpmcghee 's instagram months ago. I saw pictures of him riding my local trails on his trike (which are steep). Completely blown away and inspired! He was an immediate follow! so cool to see your adventures on the daily! bummed they didnt mention that he also shreds the surf and snow, keep it up jeremy, looking forward to running into you out in north county on day!

Thanks for the love @NorthcountyAM! Means so much to me!

Incredible video. Really amazing guy. thank you for sharing this with us, this is so inspirational and I feel the same with every word you say when you speak about being outside away from the reality of busy life distractions with beautiful nature. Keep those wheels spinning bro!
  • 1 0
Thank you! I think i'll go for a ride now. You just motived ME!
  • 2 0
The rollercoaster of life is all about overcoming obstacles. It always blows me away when I see people overcoming obstacles that are far greater than mine and doing it with such grace and class. Rock on Jeremy, keep on killing it.
  • 2 0
I don't know how graceful i am. haha. Thank you for your words. Its messages like this that keep me going when i don't want to.
  • 2 0

I will never complain about climbing again after seeing this incredible human being. Great story, very inspiring!
  • 1 0
THANK YOU!!! Means a lot to me.
  • 2 0
God bless you man! You're an inspiration. So much will and spirit. I vow to always make the time to ride. To enjoy the serenity and sense of accomplishment we get from it. So glad I watched this.
  • 1 0
Thanks Norman! 'sense of accomplishment'. Isn't that the truth. Most of the time i'm just out there trying to survive emotionally and getting somewhere new changes everything.
  • 1 0
I was just talking to a friend that makes medical devices about how I went into engineering inspired by adaptive sports and especially off-road wheelchairs! This video being posted is even more reason to be inspired to do it, even if it is 16 years later! So inspiring, totally teared up!
  • 1 0
I could literally feel the rush when the climb was over and his hands grabbed the bars for the descent. We all get that feeling whether we are pedaling with our hands or our feet. What a human. What a fucking human! I vow to complain less from now on.
  • 2 0
wow! well said. thank you for this!
  • 1 0
 No- thank YOU for this!
  • 1 0
YES, you are indeed an inspiration, Jeremy. It think the fat tire frame along with the 750 w crank-assist would give your many friends a break.
I'd totally kick in on a gofundme site. You rock, Jeremy.

BTW, how much travel you gettin' on the front suspension? it looks awesome!
  • 1 0
@pinkbikeaudience I started a fundraising page for a new bike. Had to sell mine to buy a new chair and pay some hospital bills. Can you guys post it? www.gofundme.com/helpjerbike
  • 3 0
That shoulder pump must be UNREAL. Props homie
  • 1 0
maybe set the crank arms so that they are side by side, like a rowing motion may or may not help putting power down.
  • 3 0
would a fat rear tire be beneficial? this guy is incredible
  • 5 0
@conv3rt Thank You!!! Yes, i can't wait to run fat tires on this thing. Rear likes to spin out a lot. The manufacturers are currently designing machined rear fork that will fit fat tire. Stay tuned...
  • 2 0
that is awesome! Watching that rear tire spin was heart-breaking. I assume that weight is a big concern. I know there are fat carbon rims out there and I'm sure you've got people helping with the bike design. I look forward to the new bike iteration!
  • 1 0
it IS heart-breaking! haha! Yes weight is a huge concern. Spinergy is good sponsor and they are working on a custom fat wheel for me. I'll probably need to get something to tide me over till that can happen tho. The manufacturers of this bike just came out with a new version and the geometry is much more efficient. Less spin out. See www.polyGEARious.com/explorer
  • 1 0
Amazing. I love the design process.

I know that On One sells a 24" fat bike wheel too. perhaps a bit lighter than 26"? I think you get a 26" diameter out of it in the end.

 THANK YOU!!!
  • 2 0
True inspiration! I'll probably get flamed for this but this is where the tech from a ebike would be handy.
  • 1 0
For sure! At first i was against it, but now i just want to keep up with my friends. Still get a workout but go further and faster. Currently trying to get new bike with power assist. Stay tuned...
  • 1 0
if you are reading this: you are the inspiration for able bodies!!!Thank you!
Well done to sponsors. if you help Jeremy you got my money!
  • 2 0
Thank you, @ctrlmoo5! Really means a lot to me. Its messages like this that keep me going when i don't feel like it. The guys who make this bike just came out with a new version. See www.polyGEARious.com/explorer. Currently trying to sell mine so i can get it.
  • 1 0
Jeremy, There is a guy who races at Northstar, named Sean Simonson, who is on the cross country version of your bike. You might see if he is intersted in upgrading to yours.
  • 1 0
Sweet! I'll look him up for sure. Thank You!
  • 1 0
Anyone know what happend to him? Thats so inspiring he goes out and rides and give him HUGE PROPS!!!!
  • 3 0
 INSPIRATION!
  • 1 0
 THANK YOU!!!
  • 2 1
It needs to be 3 Wheel drive and a Fat rear tire too!! That would be cool !!
  • 2 0
Wrong button- sorry I'm on my phone.

He definitely needs a tubeless fatty set up in the rear. Looks like weight bias could use some improvement too.

Integrate the pedals into the steering??

Awesome clip though. Faith in humanity restored for the day.

 Fat tire setup coming soon!
